The worst team in the club's history, a manager that hasn't got a clue, owners (and their mates) who aren't fit to run a pub team, but aye it's the fans fault
As far as i'm concerned the fans react to whats on the pitch - if the fans think for one minute there is no effort they let them know. This is what happened tonight. Our club is probably at its lowest ebb through years of mismanagement yet you want to have a go at the fans? don't think so mate. Every one of those fans who have turned up in the last season and a half want a ****ing medal - the management of this club over the last 10 years has been nothing short of a ****ing disgrace - they are the ones that need to be blamed imo.
If they cant pay back the loan then the yanks will run the club and I believe that unlike the chancers they will run it professionally..they have to otherwise it is worthless to them. There are too many covenants on the SOL and aol for those places to be anything other than sporting facilities. The council could put the kibosh on anything some dodgy developers might dream up. Donald and Methven have run out of tricks. Painting faded seats, speaking at pie and pint parties and telling us all how great we are lost its gloss as soon as the players run on the pitch. The good football ( convincing wins ) are an aberration since they arrived. Dull, eye bleeding negative hoofball is the best that both managers could offer. While his boss staunchly defends him it is richard hill who has to take most of the blame for the current debacle. He will have given the nod on both managers and all transfers since day 1. HE HAS TO GO! If PP is peddled we may as well kiss goodbye to any player incomings in January. The whole thing is indefensible..what a shambles.
Just short of 27k, Wednesday night, **** weather, run up to Christmas. ****ing hell we are gluttons for it aren’t we?
Cant blame short for anything. When he bought out the partying paddies we were deep in financial 5hite. Very deep. Our derbies would have been against darlo and hartlepool for the past 7 or 8 years were it not for him. Mind his choice of Bain was one mighty cock up.
That is some of the ****tiest defending I've ever seen. The lack of pace, the fact McLaughlin couldn't even be arsed to stick his foot out as the cross came past him and the way Lynch watches as an opponent gently trots away from him to an unmarked position at the edge of the six yard box is unbelievable. Can you imagine anyone doing that and knowing that at full time they had to face a manager like Roy Keane? And what the fcuk was Kimpioka doing on the bench until the 80th minute?
Would give my right nut to have Keano back at the moment. If he was in charge tonight would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that one.
But they didn’t! They were fully behind the team until the goal. In that one second everything changed. The fans gave our players a kicking after the goal. They didn’t deserve it at that point. Better side until then second half. Ok not creating massive amounts but definitely the better side. I watched the life drain from the team after the crowd started. Nervous passes (which they weren’t before) as fir the idiots booing O’Nien and Hume off the pitch, surely no one can back them? Those 2 left it all on the pitch. Didn’t deserve booing. I don’t mind people booing at the final whistle. Go for your life, but booing during a game makes the players on the field more nervous and worse for it.
What a load of unmitigated twaddle. They are professional footballers and even in div 1 most of the players are on at least twice what the advantage fans earn. If they cant dance they need to get off the dance floor. Besides which it isnt the players or the fans..it is the inept management. PP has clearly lost the plot and the respect of the players because he doesnt what to do. Blaming the fans??? Give your head a shake
Oh ye gods. Another of the 'sergeant major mob'. That rubbish went out with flares and cowboy boots man. Not to mention it didnt work with us for his last 6 months and didnt work at all at Ipswich or in any of his equally abysmal stints as bib boy to MoN.
Uri Geller goes undercover on the terraces at the SOL deliberately starting booing to create a negative atmosphere and thus force the players to throw the game away. It is a well known fact that he is an agent provocateur.
Twaddle? That's rich!! I've said it before and no doubt I will have to repeat it but you are clearly delusional about what a football manager does.
never noticed that in real time, thought at the time that Lynch should have wellied it, but you are right, no attempt from him to block a ball half a yard in front of him. He follows the blokes run, then also just leaves him at the vital moment
Can't accept this. The fans were great tonight....start of the second half right behind the team, great support. We concede a soft goal and it's the reaction of the players that turns the fans.....their heads are down,no grit,no fight,no brain power,no leadership, running scared.....that's when the fans get on to them. There is a serious malaise in the dressing room and we'll continue on a downward spiral until it's sorted. Biggest thing......no leadership!
It's a double edged sword. The team at the moment isn't performing and the subsequent atmosphere isn't helping. No use falling out about it, it's been a let down since all the hype of a supposed takeover. The only hope atm seems to be a overhaul in January and it can't come quick enough. No improvement after that doesn't bear thinking about.
I can not recall ever having booed my own team. But I accept that those who want to have that right, particularly after a poor performance. All the same I'd rather people tried to hold it together till the transfer window. The current Manager isn't responsible for the players he inherited. He MIGHT be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat come January. We don't have a lot of options but hope is one of them.
The fans were booing from the goal onwards - every slightly misplaced pass got booed from that moment - They were great - until they scored as I said - the team got nervy and the sections booing became Burton's 12th man and reduced our platyers. I saw O'Nien, Hume and Grigg put in a shift yesterday - and they all got booed off the pitch by that section of fans. None of them deserved it - but the fans booed every SAFC shirt leaving the pitch. I have no issue with booing after the final whistle - but what do people hope to gain by booing their team whilst the game is still on? We shrank and Burton grew because of it. That said - I'd love Cloughie as manager!
