100K jackpot rollover at Folkestone today - I've chucked a quid at it <ok>

Cyc - Sir Bumble may know Newton Abbot well but he usually sees it with a load of horses in front of him - he's only won once there. I think the top weight Gunner Rose will take all the beating in this heat mate <ok>

Hello lads.

Keeping my powder dry again today.Poor fare.

Interesting to see how that old dog Nearby gets on at NA.He just isn't a natural jumper imo.Could be back over timber if he doesn't go in today.

GL all.

It's a strange old race Oddy. The top one seems the one to beat, but according to Sporting Life, it's out to 7-2 from 9-4.

Covertly perused the ‘Racing Post’ at the station (train not police) this morn and saw within one of the most dappy comments of all time. ‘Name the Becher Chase after Ginger McCain’! I’m all for Aintree honouring the great man, following his sad passing, but isn’t the Becher Chase already named after someone?!? And probably, although infamously, the name most readily identified with Aintree. Cor blimey, couldn’t believe what I was reading!

Meanwhile, serious money being placed on Mr Gosden’s Questioning in the Cambridgeshire at the moment it would appear.

One additional point of interest. According to the weekend ‘Guardian’ Sir Henry’s King of Dudes is supposedly rather decent. They don’t highlight unraced ones very often (Firdaws was the last one) and he looks a nicely bred one. Although not entered in anything in the immediate future King of Dudes is in both the Racing Post Trophy and next terms Derby. One to look out for perhaps, anyway.

2.20 Folkestone

Empressive 28/1

Like the look of the ridiculously in form William Muir's 2 year old who makes her nursery debut tomorrow off a mark of 54. The form of her races isn't terrible as she posted a couple of decent to date. She came 4.5L behind subsequent Group 3 placed and 94 rated Mary Fildes in a 5 runner affair and interesting Martin Dwyer, who rode the apparent more fancied stablemate Picura LTO. This is a poor Class 5 contest and off a very light 8-5 I think Empressive can definitely outrun his odds and could easily win this.

I also think 5.00 Beverley Hurricane Thomas 14/1 is very interesting. Didn't run a bad race from out of the handicap LTO for the most part but faded badly in the final furlong. Dropped back to 9f today, he's racing off a lowly mark of 46 and has won twice before off a 9lb higher mark. This C+D winner has the trainer's daughter on board and she has won 4 times on him before. Its a very winnable Class 6 and I think Hurricane Thomas has an excellent chance of taking this.

In yesterday’s opener at Ballinrobe the horse named after my Uncle Charlie finished tailed-off last. The family silver though was not risked...

HESSIANBURG--i was told months ago that this TARQUIN was reputed to be best horse mrs stubbs has ever had or likely to have.i am quite disappointed at the price tho.i may have it in a double with the old sentimentalist horse--DANDEREK 4-20FOLK.
if the double comes off ,i am sending the proceeds off to mrs stubbs to get her name changed.

"ChiefMech: You may be a big galoot BUT many thanks for your kind words about the lad, sadly you are right and he has already slipped into depression, new it was coming but didn't expect it this early on! The lads are rallying round though and hopefully we will help him snap out of it.

Thanks again "

must admit when i first seen the thing about the lad it brought back horrible memories.like you,i was present at the inicident--not nice at all.
i am sure yourself and others will be doing the best to keep his spirits up.once its sunk in --he will come around no doubt.
cheers and good luck.

No bet for me today like the make up of the 15.45 Good tomorrow [Debussy/B] takes jelly of a beating in that race. Just short of maximum for me.
