I haven't blamed the ref once in any of our games or blamed the sending offs. So before you start slinging insults about I would look at the facts Stick to general chat, as that's where you spend most of your time. Insulting people is clearly a fun past time of the ******s on there.
Only the ******s who actually think you have a chance of breaking into the top four again after the last two terrible seasons...havent you your own liverpool forum to comment on, join the rest of the delusional fans..
It's a thread about Liverpool, and I came on here being reasonable. I can't help the fact you clearly have issues with anything Liverpool related.
I was not being provocative. The rush of optimism that came with KD's appointment was understandable. But there is no doubt that his buys have been poor. The Carroll buy was surprising. OK he did get a lot of money for Torres (who incidentally played well despite his howler). Suarez is a good buy. My feeling is that KD will try to fit Carroll in and persist with him (you do have to justify £35m!!) but in doing so will unsettle the team and take longer to find the right formation. As long as Carroll is in, the scousers will remian out of the top 4 IMO
I see 4th spot being contested by 3 or 4 teams, with Spuds and Liverpool being the most likely, Arsenal do have a big problem, that may be difficult to sort out anytime soon. So this could be an exiting season, for 4th spot.
Exciting for first spot too... Unless the scousers get their act together quickly and ditch Carroll at a large loss, i cannot see them challenging for 4th spot.
Why is this on the Man Utd board? I think you will find Man Utd fans don't consider us contenders. The OP just knew the post would be closed on our board.
We used to have a good laugh at the scousers challenge for the title ending by October/November. Now it is CHAMPIONS LEAGUE spot over by October. This slide into mediocrity is just incredible. All this hype about Dalglish was just that. Hype. bring back Roy H!!
ha ha find all this funny.andy carroll is only 22,he is by far the finished article.but i wished he,d cut his hair and get a perm!!!!!!
Dare I say it, but with the new signings (the core of which are English) and without having the distraction of European games, I thought Liverpool would get back into the top 4 this season. I'm sure the new players will gel and the team will improve (although 35m for Carroll still seems absurd but then so was 50m for Torres) but it seems we could already be hearing 'next season' in the near future.
I thought they stood a chance, but not as good as most people make out. When you look at their signings over the past year: Torres replaced with Carroll - definite step down imo given Torres was still scoring in his final season at 'pool Aquilani replaced with Adam - no real improvement there Meireles replaced with Henderson - another step down. Meireles may have fitness issues, but he contributed far more to the team imo So the only real improvements are Suarez, Enrique, Coates and Downing. Of those, Suarez is a great player but with temperament and consistency issues. As KPR loves to point out, he can "take the piss" out of six opposing players, but can also miss from eight yards out when the team is 1-0 down Enrique is a definite improvement, and I'm amazed that Liverpool only signed him as a ready made defender given the injury issues for Aurelio and Agger and the fact Carragher is definitely getting on a bit. Coates is likely to be great in the future, but maybe not what Liverpool need right here and now Downing is a good player who will contribute, but without a striker who is prolific at converting crosses his impact won't be truly felt Imo Liverpool are now no better than Spurs or Arsenal - all three have good teams but all have weaknesses that need to be addressed if they are to make top 4 a certainty. So 4th place is likely to be decided by whoever copes with those weaknesses best, or addresses them in January.
The Liverpool signings are not going to propel them to champions and will struggle to help them reach the top 4 in my opinion. Suárez is a good player and could get much better but his temperament is questionable and I think there will be disciplinary problems later this season. Carroll is way overpriced and Newcastle saw Liverpool coming. Steve Clarke didn't feel he was worth £1 million but now Liverpool believe he is worth £35 million? No pace, little movement, no skill and not a great goalscorer in the vein of Shearer or Fowler. Adam can certainly hit a long pass and can be accurate from set pieces but I feel Liverpool have overreacted to one good season in the Premier League. Downing has a decent left foot and like Adam can be reasonably accurate from set pieces but he's not as good as Young who opted for Utd rather than Liverpool. But if Carroll isn't firing then what good will Downing actually be? Enrique looks a useful player who has settled in quite quickly and maybe Liverpool have finally got the LB position sorted. Henderson is another lad who is struggling and will continue to I believe. Sunderland were not sure of his best position last season and while Bruce hoped to make him a CM, the lad prefers the RM side. However he hasn't done too much yet and while still raw and young, the pressure is mounting on him all the time. Finally there is Coates. Know little about the lad and think Liverpool will not see much good form from him till he settles in. But think about the signings and the possible playing style that Dalglish may try to employ. Carroll is good in the air. Adam and Downing, their strength is in set pieces and crosses. Could Dalgish's master plan be to get the ball to Carroll and hope for a headed goal or knock down to another Liverpool player? That is not the Liverpool way. Honestly cannot see them doing too well this season.
