it,s the same as when a defender sheperds the ball out of play and the attacker pushes him in the back. It,s a goal kick and maybe the attacker gets booked.
Nope, the laws actually state: "The following conditions must be met for an offence to be considered a foul: • it must be committed by a player • it must occur on the field of play • it must occur while the ball is in play" So yeah, any time a ref gives a free kick when the ball is not in play they have made the wrong decision.
Wow been really busy at work Thanks for all your replies fellas, glad to see it not turn into any arguments between rival fans, same as it should be
Hey Sky, dont know if you saw my other post but thats brill you were at Istanbul! I'd have give anything to see that I had to put that dvd on when I got back from the pub on Sunday!
I'm not entirely convinced anyone understands the rules properly! Probably FIFA's fault for changing them so often and relying on one referee to remember them all and make all the decisions with no real support. That said, most refs probably wouldn't want a player to get away with a bad tackle in the middle of the park simply cos the ball has just crossed the line for a throw.
It was the greatest day of my life, other than my boy being born. Certainly a memory I will cherish forever. I went with eight mates and had a week's holiday there as well. It turned out the best holiday I've ever had
In which case the Ref could only have charged Cole with Violent Conduct as the position of the ball does not come into play with this charge. As far as I know there is only 1 sanction for that charge.
in this case i think the refs should be free to do what they like (assuming its sensible) as its just being fussy about the ball being out of play. Id be more than happy with free kicks or pens beign given for stuff like that, but not for dissent or unsporting behaviour
C$shley in his prime doesn't make that horrific blunder, he's just starting to show the inevitable, and Nani running him ragged didn't help, sheer frustration and just "gettin' a bit long in the tooth" TBF. I don't C$shley meant to break Chico's leg. The one element that prevents Us and the Ch@vs from getting carried away is the sheer amount of England Internationals on the field together, keeps things sane. I do enjoy the on-field banter between Roo and Terry, etc..
