No AWJ, no Tips etc next week again..... They wanted to get back into the main European Competition yet they’ve fielded weakened teams ....

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/welsh-rugby-neath-fight-1990s-15356192 Not sure that I would agree that Kobus Wiese was a great guy off the pitch - I spoke with him in the GlynClydach Hotel after the match, he was arrogant and unfriendly. Hennie le Roux and the full back Andre Joubert were both gentlemen. They turned up so late for the function that we thought that they weren’t going to show. Overall, I found that the Aussies and the Yanks were far more friendly after the matches.
That was absolutely stupid and needless, in the same vein as the French guy in the WC. They lost as a result. Also, talking of horror shows, it's so sad to see the Ospreys suffering at the moment
Squad is unbalanced and can’t cope with absence of TW players plus all those injuries .... Hore’s ‘build from within’ mantra has cost them dearly....
I went to the Saracens game on Saturday and I must admit, key players missing aside, they looked to be seriously lacking in confidence. There was a huge gulf between the two sides.
Glam - Norman Rees is quite poorly at present. I spoke with his wife (Dorian) last week, and to his daughter Beth.
That is really sad news Taff. It was so good that he got his belated cap along with the other two Neath players who sadly couldn't be there
Yes - Norman and Dorian (she was with him on the day but not in the photo) were truly chuffed. If you study the photo closely, you can see where he had a ‘lump’ removed from his scalp 2-3 years ago. Diane (Martyn Davies’ widow is 2 away from Norm)
Real nostalgia time Taff You wouldn't get 9 and 10 the size of Martyn and Dai Parker these days! This was a great Neath team and I still have the scarf I wore to the final. It was the semi final against Cardiff that is one of the memorable games. I can vividly remember now Brian Thomas standing in the way of the Cardiff wing, can't recall his name but a big bloke Lynne something I think, and Brian just let him run into his shoulder and sent him flying into touch. It was right in front of the Neath fans and was one of those match changing moments. It was a great back row too and Mike Thomas had Barry John in his pocket in the final. Great times
I knew Brian, Glen and Martyn really well. I watched the Neath v Ponty final sitting with Norman. See my old friend Harold Powell standing next to Dai Morris. I often see Dai Parker in town - lovely guy!
