Aione runs tomorrow (Punchestown 15,40) his first race under rules... with a two-year delay. https://www.not606.com/threads/cheltenham-2018-antepost-thread.345256/page-16#post-11397160
3.00 Southwell- Outrath- 3/1 Dont usually back so nearly horses but has been running well, over this trip and conditions the last twice he has finished third and second so he obviously likes the soft ground.Hasn’t gone up for those runs and will be running off the same mark for the third time. Very eye catching jockey booking in Jonjo jr and stable had a winner in this type of race last week. This is his eassier than his last few runs and will have no better opportunity to finally break his maiden tag
Rose Sea Has - looked extremely talented in between looking a complete nutcase. The fact they’ve found a weaker race, got the hood on and got the horse back out relatively quickly suggests that we could see a much improved performance at spectacular Sedgefield this afternoon. will it be another winner for the good doctor?
Cor bally blinkin’ blimey has anyone seen what the handicapper has done to dear old Pym?!? For that Ascot success, on Saturday, he’s raised him 12 lbs (to 149). To me that is harsher than harsh. And I’m sure The Lieutenant needed a double GnT to recover from the shock upon learning this! Lisp, meanwhile, after his fencing bow is on 144. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I’d have the 0-145 novice chase at the Cheltenham Festival in mind re him. Needs 2 more runs over fences (and obviously the necessary perch) to qualify. Wouldn’t be a betting proposition though, team, in these 2 races as he can’t exceed that 145 mark after running in them. Now that really, really, really is a case of nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more…
Disgusting treatment of Pym - in my opinion it hints that the handicapper believes Lieutenant Henderson has undertaken all sorts of skulduggery to win a novices handicap at Ascot. Ridiculous putting him up 12 lbs for that. Interesting piece here on Native River potentially going for the Welsh National. Excellent that connections are supporting one of the big handicaps with a star horse.
They’ve obviously rated Pym around the third home, 12lbs for 10 lengths against par performance seems relatively fair doesn’t it?
Hopefully they will drop him as quick as they have raised him then... Oh wait, they don't, they'll keep him up there for ever and a day before dropping back down... It dos seem a tad excessive...
lost my phone all those who have my number please drop me a text with your name on (im on the same number) cheers
I backed PETES CHOICE in this last night when he was 33/1, now around 18s. Plenty of reasons to doubt the horse but the few key positives for me were, the jockey who I think is excellent for 7lbs, the wind surgery second run factor, the trip as he he needed to drop back and the mark which is bow in the 80s from an opening 102/
Hope so stick, did the same myself for those reasons and yard been running well recently, I've thrown it in with both micky hammond runners at Sedgefield and Kevin frosts Calvinst ,they were all huge prices last night !
I really like Native River..will be interesting to see him run in this too..who knows it's seemingly different winter so far to last year..a lot wetter and who knows come March time it could be soft which would give him a right old chance in the gold cup. This is assuming he s not lost any of his enthusiasm and ability..
Empited quicker than a teenager in a brothel Oddy.Maybe the ground went against him but that was a very disappointing run.
