Despite the many claims of the scousers that this is going to be finally their season to gain that first premiership trophy and equal United's fantastic record, is Liverpool already out of it? There was so much optimism with Dalglish and he has so many times encouraged fans to think that the tide has turned at alst and his team can now challenge for the title. But his last 2 matches showed that his team is not strong enough and his purchase of Carroll for £35 million was just a waste of money. Anyone will buy Carroll for half the price? Carroll does not look like a £5 million striker never mind £35million...
They were considred at the start of the season to be strong enough to challenge. They have spent big, with Suarez and Carroll. A few pundits in the press have selected them as their choice for the title....
Only 5 games in but personally I'd bet on KK cracking under real pressure. AGAIN! Henderson is an okay-ish investment and like Adam, his reputation was mainly overhyped by the media. Carrol at the moment is like Ali Dia but he cost £35million lol. No but seriously he is not getting quality supply which is a shame because for about half a season he was "promising" at Newcastle. Promising being the key word here. He hasn't really delivered for a full season but media helped create some kind of reputation. Not to mention his dramatic personal life that gets way too much press. Suarez and Lucas are the only players who look like they have class to be in a League winning team. Carragher is past sell date and Gerrard is yet to be seen whether he'll regain his quality aura. A miracle if they make top 5, they are still in transition. For the past 21 years.
Most Liverpool fans didn't consider themselves a title contender. Their main goal was to get back into the Champions League.
Spot on Mano You'll soon find out that the OP is obsessed with Liverpool FC,he was on our board on the old 606 more than he was on United's
Haha Andy Carroll has more chance of being the PL top striker than Liverpoo being in the top four, imo they are not a top flight team any longer...
First I've heard of it. I think you'll find the vast majority say top 4 is our target, and that still stands. At the end of the day, we had a terrible day on Sunday, other than that we've played very well. So for me our original target of top 4 still stands.
Liverpool may have spent big, but have they realy bought title winning quality? The likes of Downing, Henderson, Adam and Carroll are not good enough to win the league. Whilst they have an old centre half in Carragher who even in his prime was never that good, hence why he was always behind Terry and Rio in the England pecking order. Gerrard back in the day was top quality, but these days he is plagued by injury, and has most definitely lost a yard of pace. So for me Liverpool only have 2 quality players, Reina and Suarez, the rest just aren't good enough, simple as that
Speaking honestly there are not many players from that squad that I would possibly want in the Utd squad. Reina is a good keeper, Suarez is a very good forward and Kelly looks an excellent prospect at the back. I know Liverpool fans now praise Lucas and to be fair the lad has done well. Apart from these guys there is no one at their club that I rate. Their squad reminds me of the time when Gerrard and Carragher years ago were playing very well but carrying the many donkeys around them. To be fair, nothing much has changed expect the personnel. Some good players surrounded by tools.
Did you watch the game? Obviously not. We played very well and were unlucky to not get anything. That is common knowledge and not just a fan's bias.
and obviously carried on this good form into your next game... You can stand the "We played well and were unlucky not to get anything" trophy next to the "We beat united 4-1" cup.
I know we played terrible in the Spurs game. But anyone who watched the Stoke game can clearly see we were unlucky. I admit we didn't take our chances and that cost us. But they had one shot on goal and won the game. Don't think I'm coming on here trying to cause an argument, I am simply putting my view across
Wrong, i did and Liverpool didnt take their chances when possible so in theory you didnt play well, any team can play well but scoring is the way forward so quit the bitching...always blame the ref, bollox, outplayed at Spurs regardless of the sending off etc, just not good enough regardless of the transfer spending, fail...
