You missed out that being negative is being "realistic" that classic line! Because I'm positive and have always looked on the bright side, I'm not realistic!
What has this club done in the last 50 years to justify that expectation? Since I’ve been alive we’ve been pretty **** and bounced around the top 2 divisions. As much as I love the club I think the expectations placed on it from the fans is wide of the mark. Having lots of fans turn up doesn’t make you a big club imo. Winning leagues and cups does. Sunderland used to be a big club but not anymore. We have the potential to be but I honestly don’t think we are as big as some fans like to think and the longer we stay in league one the worse it becomes.
