Le Fondre also scored for Reading this weekend. Just goes to show that the old idea that lower league players are too much of a gamble isn't true.
Just because they've started off well doesn't mean it's going to work in the long term. For all we know Le Fondre could have had a shocker and his goal could have hit him on the backside whilst he had his eyes shut. In terms of team of the week I would have put Chester in there ahead of Rosenior this week, in fact if our full back four had been included in the team it wouldn't have been a surprise!
ALF's goal looked ok on the BBC, but both him and Sinclair have already shown they are capable of scoring in this league, which is a major reason why they were signed.
Even if we had taken the gamble of signing Le Fondra or Sinclair the old City curse of can't score, won't score, which is possessing Mr Mclean now, would have struck up again. Think about Wilbraham, Altidore, Ellison, Duffy, Manucho etc, the list dates back for ages, and yet they've all been affected.
Got to admit that McClean's scoring rate is a mystery and I don't think it was a mystery that he scored at his old club. It suggests that the problem is in his head. Maybe he thrives on being the centre of attention (I don't mean that in a critcal way) like he was at Peterborough.
How did i forget Simpson. Dunno about Fryatt. His confidence looks shot so far, but last season he was banging them in.
Correct about Fryatt this season, whats caused such a drop in his confidence? How does NP get his Mojo back for him?
When Fryatt came on satdee,i thought his body language looked good.Being dropped to the bench may have had it's desired effect. I'd start him at Bristol. We talk about proven championship goalscorers, well Fryatt is one.And he's also scored as many as any of our other strikers this season.
I just think he is still off the mark for me, true though about his goals scored stats but for me I would'nt change what is'nt broken, Waghorn and McLean must start for me. 3 wins in 3 with these two.
Think your correct, in the long term maybe but I have'nt seen anything since Waghorn came in to suggest he has up'd his game nor the time spent on the bench, come on Matty, lets see you get the bit between your teeth again.
Argh yes, your right, still apply the same thought process though, think McLean looks very sharp, hungry, as does Waghorn.
