Please no more Woops, as that name will always bring back unhappy memories of our long departed, and unmissed ex chairman.
Another wonderful day was when we won the FA Cup semi-final at Villa and realised we would also be in Europe. Felt pretty good that day. I have to say that although I have felt most emotions supporting Saints, this is the first time I have ever felt smug.
Yeh it's brilliant at the moment but being a saints fan i've always got this devil on my shoulder that's telling me things i don't wanna hear, what happens if Lallana leaves, what happens if nigel is chased by premier league teams, what happens if cortese leaves,i love the feeling of being a saints fan at the moment and i don't want this feel good factor to go away.
I was happy when we were relegated from the PL because I knew I had a future promotion to celebrate. I was even happier when we got relegated to League 1 because then I knew I had a future JPT win and 2 future promotions to celebrate. All I have left to look forward to now is one more promotion, champions league qiualification, an FA Cup win and a Carling Cup win.
Nothing ever stays the same, so enjoy this moment. The PL is the promised land, but life will be tougher there (mind you they said that about the Championship!). I hope that Nicola stays as I love the way the club is run, but I worry that he will go when the PL is achieved. I also worry that NA will be poached. Now look what you've done, saintadam1981! I was happy 5 mins ago!
Don't worry, this time next year we will be cheering on the lads at old trafford watching Lambert smash 3 past De Gea as we march on towards the premier league title and champions league qualification. But then again I'm just a pessimist...
While there is a Southampton Football Club and there is blood pumping through is body, I don't see Cortese leaving Southampton. And that can only be a good thing
