I'm assuming you mean in general as I'm boycotting putting money into that frauds back pocket, but that's a fair point. Of course fans are nervous though. They're served up the same dross time and time again. Even when the fans are behind the team, they hardly show willing (Leicester being the most illustrative point) It's a bit chicken and egg though.
Purely from listening to the Solent coverage, I got the impression that the injury time resulted from injuries to our own players, Bed was groggy after the blow to the head, Jack was struggling late on and the loss of Armstrong was critical to the balance. Fate did us no favours yet again.
Yes, gutted like everyone else. Football is cruel sometimes. 21 shots to their 12 and more shots on target, away from home. They bring on a 72million sub that our so called **** defence contained, never thought I would be disappointed with a point away at arsenal. Forget about money going into Goa's pocket, we have 3 massive home fixtures before Christmas. Let's get behind the players, raise the volume at st marys and hopefully we can replicate some great away performances at home and start moving up the table. COYR
I was expecting another loss so am happy with a point. We need to dig deep and grind out wins against lower opposition.
If you didn’t see the game we were far more threatening in the last 15 without Armstrong than we were before. Not that he had a bad game, thought he played very well. However djenepo and Boufal caused them al, sorts of problems, just couldn’t finish it off.
I think so. I`m a bit miffed generally with the negativity on here about Saints performance today - I thought we were very good, and very unlucky not to win. We`ll be fine if we turn up like that every week.
Ball was moving when Bertrand took the free kick quickly. Luckily VAR doesn't check restarts apart from penalty encroachments.
we should have won today we did not we should have been better in front of goal we were not we should have defended better when we needed to we did not however we did play a lot better than we have done recently but yet again we were away if we can just play with the same effort we did today I cannot see why we should not get 6 points from our next home games
Ah Tom, you are quite correct! l meant, or at least l think l meant, this was three points we should have taken - l was so annoyed at the end because of those wasteful opportunities... eeerrrr
ah yeah. It would have been incredibly nitpicky but that's football these days. There are a few things to be negative about - mainly not putting this game to bed but you are right, this was a performance reminiscent of last season when we finished with top 10 form. If Ralph can rally them repeatedly again, this season can turn around. Here's hoping.
Pochettino imo knew he had taken that team as far as he could, and showed every sign of wanting to go. He seemed to be sending out a ‘back me or sack me’ messages to the chairman, who duly took the latter option. Ralph’s position here is different in all sorts of ways, but for him to stay and turn this round, we need points before Christmas and money spent in January. The worry is that if we get the points, Ralph won’t get the money.
Had either the Referee or the Assistant been able to see that the ball was moving, they would have called it, they didn't. Another flaw in the VAR set up perhaps that may be addressed, still a work in progress.
