I'm not sure Top is that interested in the money - in that we don't need it, I think he'd rather keep the players and the club progress. If they expressed their interest in leaving, then it's premium price tag time. Our players should know that they'll not be sold unless our valuation is met, we've demonstrated our strong stance on that with Maguire. I think our league position in January will be key - are we still in a position to qualify for European football. Some of the traditional top 6 might not be. Although we're still fighting the allure of the big club status and the wages they'll offer. If we achieve it, that's a big incentive to stay.
I think the message is simply closed for business in the winter. As said just above my post, if Top’s hand is forced by a player agitating maybe in the summer but I don’t think he’d even accept an offer not matter how much if the player wasn’t fussed for moving
Club moved heaven and earth to keep everyone when we won the title. Kante had his release clause which tied our hands but just look how hard they fought to keep Vardy. I cant see anyone leaving if we get champions league next season unless its players we want to move on
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho could bring in Leicester City and Portugal full-back Ricardo Pereira, 26, to replace Kieran Trippier who left for Atletico Madrid in the summer. (Express) Possibly our most complete player. Wondered how long it would take till he was the next one...
When you read that, it could have legs this one. Pereira is Portuguese and sounds like he really respects Mourinho from the quotes. Main problem is I can’t see them paying the £60m-ish I reckon would be quoted
We are linked with 23yo Robin Koch from Freiburg - last German CB we had turned out to be half decent... We are also linked with 20yo CM Stephane Diarra from Le Mans and 20yo striker Riccardo Sottil from Fiorentina.
I prefer to see it as 2 Soyuncu’s is better than 1! Like when we had 2 Kante’s playing in the middle with Drinkwater
Jarrod Bowen really is a no brainier. Out of contract in the summer so low price, fits our ethos of young talent, scored 11 in 16 from right wing in a struggling side.
You cant really say that. Perez is a proven player in the prem Bowen looks a top player for Hull but until he plays in the prem you never know what you are really getting. Numerous players have looked too good for the championship but struggled in the prem
I can say it and will say it again. Perez at this point in time is nowhere near close to what I think a 30mill forward should be producing. He blew so many chances against Brighton it was criminal. He has had one productive game. Bowen has been knocking them in for three seasons now and is a young English player, ideal for us. Oh, and he has played in the Prem.
If the league positions and gap in points are as it is now in Jan, we should also public ally express our interest and bid for Son! He would actually fit our team so well and why shouldn’t we have the nerve to do it when they are deluded enough to think they could had Rodgers, Ricardo or anyone else from us for that matter
Perez doesnt play as an out and out striker. When he did for Newcastle his strike rate is decent. Not Jamie Vardy standard but still decent Jarrod Bowen has played 9 premier league games and hasnt scored. 9 games isnt enough to say he can or cant cut it in the prem so he is an unknown quality at this level You just have to be patient with Perez
Dennis Praet is wanted by Fiorentina - apparently they think that we are going to sign someone that will push him further down the order which is interesting. We are still linked with 29yo Senegalese CB Salif Sane - would be an experienced replacement for Morgan. Ones for @leicester_ed - 17yo Nigerian winger Akinkumni Amoo who was a star player at the U17 World Cup, 22yo non-league striker Ronald Sobowale who is the cousin of David Alaba and 18yo striker Ronan Darcy from Bolton
I never said Perez was playing as a striker but as a forward, one of three in our current formation. I take your point he will settle in and hopefully go on to be a top player for us. But this thread is about transfers and I think having Bowen here to push Perez and Barnes would be an ideal signing. All players come from somewhere with many not having played prem football before and go on to be great signings.
