    Absolutely mate.

If we could take 4 or 6 points out of this entering the massive Xmas period, with the 2 in hand the mood spin would be immense.

We need to get in the top 6 on the hope that we are recruiting in January, folk will want to look at it and believe we can claw back and get up.

We’ve been horrendous recently but for all the lack of quality in the squad, it is good enough to compete on this league.

Time for lads to stand tall, and for those who don’t to be moved out. Anyone we moved out is only going down levels, somehow we need to get them going into every game thinking ‘this club is my biggest opportunity’.

That’s on PP let’s see if he can do it. I don’t see a single player in our squad that will ever play for a bigger club. Prove me wrong, do that by showing it.

At this point I only have faith in Budge, Willis, O’Nien and Hume.

    That’s a damning view.

I expect that a few of those will be moved on, possibly to Scotland. I hope that finally we can get the recruitment strategy right. From the feedback on the talk in, Parky certainly seems to have identified the right type of players. Now it's down to the club to get them in asap.

Personally, I would add Dobson to your list of people you would have faith in. He's a young lad, who, like O'Nein, is hungry to improve himself. After that, the jury's still out on some, and have delivered their 'not right for this club' verdicts on others.

Lynch, Gooch and Watmore for me too. All good lads with some fight in them, Gooch especially he's like a human staffie. Back before long hopefully.

I can understand why you would include these 3 mate. They're in the 'jury's out' category for me.

The reasons for that is :
    1) I haven't seen enough of Lynch yet to be absolutely sure.So far, he looks like a no nonsense defender and more than good enough for this level.
    2) Gooch is a good player and a hard worker, but was poor from November onwards last season. This season, before he was injured, he was playing a bit more like he started last season. Needs to be more consistent.
    3) Will Dunc stay injury free, and get back to his best? If he does, he'll be a great asset this season and in the Championship too.

In terms of ability and consistency I agree, I was thinking more about having faith in them having the right attitude even if they're not having the best game. Gooch could do with being less greedy mind especially when he's not playing well.

Hope these next two games go well for us because if it doesn't things are going to get ugly for a while. I think as a club we can't go into meltdown before the January transfer window. The recruitment team have got to come up big in January which will be against the grain of many years before. I think Big Sam's January window a few years back is the best we have had for many, many years. I must admit I still need to be convinced by these guys but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Anyway, let's get three points tomorrow....

Spot on for me, Agree they certainly are capable of joining my 3. I put Dobson in there as well under Lynch, I still need to see more but I do like the lad.

another thing is we have scored in 34 consecutive home league games (4 back in the championship included). Coventry have only lost once and drew at Peterborough and have nearly won a lot more but for conceding late on a few times. Walsh is as good as Toney if you ask me, and anther thing black players always give us trouble where are our's ? get Josh back on loan please. Grigg will come flying out and shove his way into the penalty area and score 2, or i hope so.

Would cap everything if we were rained off! However I'm sure the drainage system will cope - as long as no-ones left a coke bottle in the outlet!

    Team News:
Phil Parkinson will be boosted by the return of three players from the treatment room this weekend.
Jordan Willis, Joel Lynch and George Dobson will be back in the matchday squad to face Coventry City at the Stadium of Light after missing Tuesday’s cup defeat at Gillingham.
However, Marc McNulty is a doubt while Charlie Wyke and Lynden Gooch remain out.
“Charlie is still not available which is a blow,” Parkinson told media at today’s press conference.
“The ankle is just not ready and sometimes the natural healing process needs to take place.
“It has been a blow losing him but we are looking forward to having him back.”
He continued: “Jordan Willis and Joel Lynch are back available which is good news.
“Marc McNulty is still struggling but George Dobson is back.”
