Harvey Barnes performance against Southampton will have made a lot of people sit up and take notice ... him and Chilwell will also have given Gareth Southgate food for thought in terms of England's 'left side' ... happy days

 

I reckon Chilwell is first choice but Barnes, for me, doesn’t even come close to England yet.

 

Barnes has done this before. While Southampton was his best game for us but its about kicking on now. Thats what Gray has never done. Barnes has a real chance to make a place his own and stop Brendan from splashing the Maguire money on a winger in January

 

Not sure what kind of targets we have in January. We’ll be more attractive for sure but for more established players or wonder kids? Would love to think we could be in the mix for the names like Haland and Olmo as they are in positions we will need but they’ll be much more money on offer for them. I’d like us to look at Bowen from Hull as it’s a position we need but maybe we could get a more established player. Really don’t know as things are going so well

 

Was surprised no one in the Prem took a chance on Bowen in the summer and he has continued last seasons form. Was always a better player than say Che Adams who has made no impact. I would like us to be in for Bowen for sure.

 

I’d take him on the opposite flank to Barnes definitely. Depends what the other options are in that position, if there’s a top level player than fits the group mentality then great. Bowen would fit though

 

I like Bowen too. Amazed to see he hasn’t stepped up yet. Plus Hull are hardly a Leeds/Derby, could do with some money.

 

We are being linked Noussair Mazraoui, a 21yo RB from Ajax.

Daniel Amartey will be going out on loan in Jan - hopefully will get back to fitness and challenge for a place here again.

Personally would love a right winger still...

 

Think we need to give Perez time, we bought him in for his versatility, yet he seems to be settling on the right, seems to have a good understanding with Ricardo and Tielemans. Gray is ok off the bench for me.

But saying that, wingers do seem to be our weakest area, though they have improved though over the last 10 games. Don't think we'll find a winger in January that will start banging in more goals and assists than what we already have.

Don't think Januarys transfer window is great for trying to improve the first 11, as clubs want to hold onto players that are doing well for them until at least the end of the season.

 

Gray has started to look decent again coming off the bench and making an impact

IMO i dont believe be will ever been good enough over 90 mins to start every week. But managed correctly he could be a big player coming off the bench this season

 

So in January

Rodgers and Soyuncu are off to Arsenal

Soyuncu is also off to Man City along with Jonny Evans

Ben Chilwell is signing for Chelsea

James Maddison is signing for Man U

Saying that even with just Schmeichel, Ricardo, Barnes, Tielemans and Vardy on the pitch we would still probably beat Arsenal

 

I reckon it will be the ‘not for sale at any price’ in January then people will talk in the summer

 

I reckon if we get Champs League then we will refuse to sell anyone regardless

 

We should stick a poster of Drinkwater up in the dressing room with a caption of "this could be you". That should deter anyone from leaving!

 

Nothing we don’t know, no chance we are selling anyone we want to keep in January, just the ‘sky dubbed 6’ running scared and trying to disrupt. We didn’t sell a disruptive Mahrez, for crazy money when we were doing crap in Jan before so no way would the players even be angling to leave in the winter window.

 

Think we could get £100m for Maddison in the summer, January, surely your going to need to spend at least £120m to even get the interest of Top, its not happening.

Same with Chilwell, people saying he'd move to Chelsea in Jan if their transfer bans lifted ... really?! It would haveto be another record fee for a fullback, easily.
