You want things to be like they were before ENIC? Mid table and no hope of improvement.

We have been through this before. You had loads of room for ffp with your profits and wages to turnover. Stadium spend doesnt count towards ffp and with the new billions the pl was pouring in on tv money

Of course being financially sound is reasonable but ffp has nothing to do with it

The only season where that was really true was the one where we made no signings. The ffp spend limit on the Poch period would have been in the region of 250m net spend compared to 100m actual as far as I can see.
Now we have room to spend 150m or more a year.

Appointment is worth it alone just to see Jose put Eriksen in his place

By default a lot of fans should be angry at Levy for this appointment but I don’t see it much...yet he’s got rid of ‘Mr Tottenham’ according to many.

Eriksen will be in tears and grabbing his own bags and scarpering our of the Club before Jose parks his Bentley.

Jose is no Poch when it comes to being ruthless

Interesting that his contract is relatively short so perhaps even Levy himself has some reservations.

I'm actually willing to give Jose the benefits of my doubts and am fully behind him. He's a winner but does come with emotional baggage. I'll put up with that if he wins a trophy. The appointment also suggests that Levy has promised funds for new players.

If Jose was asked to build his ideal striker...he would build Kane.

I cannot wait to see Jose transform Kane into an uber twat upfront and start scoring goals with the frequency we all know he can

    Toxic appointment.

Very sad times and years of anguish/mediocrity ahead again.

The Poch era was it in my lifetime. The best it was and ever will be.

****ing hell. Levy either doesn't get us fans or just doesn't give a **** about us. We enjoy attacking, risky football that raises the drama, not defensive, pragmatic football that bores us to tears. We want to see young players brought through and if some of Pochettino's whining got on people's nerves we aint seen nothing yet. An awful decision before you even get to the fact we hate Jose's guts, or that there's serious questions over whether Jose still has what it takes.

Hope he gets sacked soon and the fans let Levy know exactly what we think of Jose.

One thing Jose should be able to do is bring back full utter ****house Dele. He’s been gone for over two seasons now and it’s no surprise those two seasons have been well below par for him.

Be interesting to see what happens with Eriksen too. Will he get his **** together now that we have a manager who won’t take any **** or have we seen the last of him in a Spurs shirt? Jose managed to get Ozil playing superbly at Real and was widely regarded as the best 10 in football at the time. Would be great if he can do that with Eriksen, on paper he’s still the second best 10 after KdB in my eyes so hopefully he rediscovers the form that makes him so.

Massive overreaction by 99% of Spurs fans just because Poch is a nice guy.

Whilst he is the best manager we have had in years,he was not the manager to take the club forward. Managers have a certain number of years to win before things need to change and his time was up.

I would be happy to spend for a new manager, Poch mentally checked out a while ago.

The fact is, the premier league form since January has been papered over by the CL final run, akin to being in the relegation zone of league 1 and having a magical FA Cup run. Great for one season, but still you are watching a lackluster team week in week out.

4 years ago I ended a 3 year relationship because she got arsey about me not missing a spurs game and bar exceptional circumstances I do not miss game. This last year and particularly since the week 2/3 of this season i can take or leave watching us, which is a big deal to me.

Part of that is the players, back 4 who aren't good enough, Eriksen et al. However, Poch keeps making the same mistakes be it right back, playing harry winks, resting players, keeping eriksen and quite simply everyone knows he wont make a change until 70 mins.

Last two weeks I have been Poch out, I did not think it would happen but it has. Thank you for everything Poch but you time was up and I wish you the best for the future.

Far too much negativity here about the club appointing Mourinho. Looking at some of these comments you’d think we’d appointed Neil Warnock, not one of the most successful managers in recent times.

The guy wins things, ffs! He’s won at least one major trophy at every club he’s managed. We’ve won **** all of note since 1991 and only the oldest of us can remember when we last won the league.

To be fair to Levy, attacking football is great when you're winning games. Attacking football when you can't defend, is suicide. Right now we can't buy a win. We are in relegation form. At least Mourinho will stop us from losing, which is always the first order of business with teams in our form.

I remember when Harry came in and the first match was a draw against Arsenal. It felt like a win. Jose will want to crush Arsenal in the derby for all sorts of reasons.

At best this will be like when we brought Gallas into the team. The winning mentality was evident. I think Jose also wants to prove that he has the flexibility to work with more attacking players. He has a lot to prove now. He won't want to lose against any of the top teams. He'll want to prove himself the serial winner again.

I somehow feel more confident now about the cup runs too. Jose has to put up or shut up. If he does win silverware with Spurs though, we won't hear the end of it.

Personally I would have stuck with Poch for another season at least, but Levy is emotionless. Runs the club strictly by the numbers. I hope he knows what he is doing. I really do.

I think both the sacking and the appointment are mistakes. But that isn't a reason to be angry. Every Chairman makes mistakes but almost all of them have the best interests of their club as their priority.
