You have to assume that we'll sign M'Villa in January. All we need is Frimpong to play there until january, and then all shall be rosy.

I blame the medical staff. Look at wilshere's injury. he was supposed to be out for a few weeks, then it turned out we'll be without him for three months.

Song was class against Dortmund in the CL. Also played well in the first half against Blackburn. One bad half means he is now some rubbish player that should never play for us again. Give me a break.

He's a good player, but he isn't an out and out DM. He leaves the back 4 exposed far too often, thats why a lot of fans want someone new in.

I think Arsenal would be the easiest job to manage in world football <ok>

They are a few players short of being a top, top team & everyone but Wenger sees it. Goalkeeper is a must, few strong midfield types & a striker.

Don't tell me the money isn't there as he's potentially spent £20m on Walcott & Chamberlain, Arshavin cost a fair bit & countless others. Same as Everton, they had money & didn't spend it very wisely IMO Fellaini & Bily(wont attempt to spell the Russian wingers name <laugh>) both cost £10m - good players but you can't moan about a small squad when you spend your budget on 2 players when you could have got 4/5 decent players for the same amount of cash.

Why do we need a keeper? Wojcech Szczesny is one of the best keepers in the premiership, he can't be blamed for defensive inadequacies. If we had someone like De Gea in goal, Man Utd would have put about 15 past us.

Not really. He has not had one bad game for us. Got us through to the CL proper with some world class saves.

I watched him at Brentford, and you could see then that he was going to be special.

So what you are saying is that De Gea is **** because he needs time to settle into the team and get used to the PL? <doh> The lad is only 20 so give him time.

Szczesny is a good keeper though and I do rate him.

Fair enough - must have been out a few games when I saw some shocking keeping in a few of your games..............could even have been the year before!! I'm still pissed from Sunday <ok>

Anyway I agree with you both that its the midfield that needs toughening up rather than the back. When fit you have a good backline.

I didn't rate De Gea when he was at Atletico Madrid. Word of warning, he is abysmal when dealing with long shots, time and again his positioning was all over the shop. After his assured performance against Benfica, i'd give Anders Lindegaard a shot.

That explains it. It must have been Almunia.

Positioning improves with experience and if the defence and midfield did their job closing attackers down the number of long shots would be reduced but perhaps that would also improve with experience as well. He is just to young to write off as a failure. I do agree that Lindegaard looks a great keeper and should get more starts with De Gea being number two for a season or two
