    As a manager your job is to train and pick a team capable of winning matches, and you do just that, convincingly, and get sacked for it?

    Yeah that's because it was the job of the opposition coach to train his team to win games.
    They literally sacked their manager for doing his job.
    His team was smashing the league, and they had just won their latest game 27-0, and they sack him.
