That's true of any decent side these days.
I agree on the shortcomings you've mentioned, plus he never dominated his box well enough.
He would have been a decent back-up for Alisson, but we have that in Adrian now.
My only point is that I can see why Mig would feel he wasn't wanted by Klopp when Karius was chosen before him.

Yeah, I agree....choosing Karius over him must have been a bone shuddering reality of how little faith Klopp had in him. Tbh, even I couldn’t understand why he chose Karius and I was a huge critic of Mignolet because of all of the above mentioned shortcomings.

Karius over was a big mistake by Klopp, probably the reason we failed to win the champion league against Real Madrid, however Karius did well before the final.

The massive debt is finally catching up to them

Over the next 10 years they need to get rid of the Glazers, pay off their debts, and get promoted back to the Premier League

Totally misleading article tbh. I don’t know what Utd’s value is but their £384m debt as a ration to revenue won’t be a million miles off our ratio. If they lost a lot more revenue over the next few years then they’ll have a problem but right now that much debt on what, $2b is not an issue and why they can spend like they do.

If I remember rightly as well that debt has been going down steadily over the years. Sure it was double that ten or so years ago.

You're right that they'd need to turn it round sooner rather than later though to keep their financial edge.

It was nearer £1b when the Glazers first arrived. They've made a fortune without paying a penny themselves

Karius had his good games, and he was supposedly the style of keeper klopp wants for his team. Good with his feet with good distribution, he was good in Germany arrived with a glowing rep, I just think it was to big for him, he tried to look cool and collected but I reckon he was just a big bag if nerves.

The champ final just did for him, biggest of games he made some shocking descions and his head has gone completely now.

Karius was crap, Karius was a sentimental signing by Klopp because of the Mainz connection, a few weeks after becoming our manager Jürgen gave Mignolet a five year contract despite him being not good enough, then states that Karius was his number one keeper.
The defence back then wasn't very good in fairness and put both keepers under a lot of pressure, but since letting goalkeeping coaches take care of our keepers we've vastly improved.
Jürgen was on a learning curve in the Premier League and the penny dropped too late as far as Karius AND Mignolet were concerned.

Woodward said the increase in debt was due to money paid to sign players, if this is correct how are they not breaking FFP rules, the owners are taking a large dividend every season, the leveraged debt was decreasing(slowly)but now it's being added to due to the cost of signings, yet the club still claims to be in profit? :emoticon-0114-dull:

Perhaps it's just me, but I don't remember it like this at all. For me, a "good game" was when he didn't look awful. When it was first touted that we were interested, there was a video going round of his "best bits". All I remember is a series of routine saves with an alarming tendency to push the ball back out into the danger area. I thought I was missing something.
Bearing in mind that I always try to support our own players whilst being as objective as I can, I just couldn't see how he was an improvement. I hoped that he would settle in and get better, but we all know what happened.
I hope he finds his level and has a decent career, but he should never have been anywhere near our club, imo.

Totally agree, as much as I love our manager he has to take responsibility for throwing the kid into a situation were he was totally out of his depth, the defence Jürgen inherited was leaking goals for fun, 4-3, 5-4, 3-2 were regular scorelines in those days, we were brilliant in attack but garbage in defence.
Give Klopp his due, he promised to give every one of the players a chance to prove they deserved to be kept, but letting reserve keepers leave and signing Karius was a big mistake.

    Man Utd want Pochettino sacked
Man Utd are hoping Mauricio Pochettino is sacked by Tottenham.

The Argentine is under pressure this season after a poor campaign so far, with reports claiming Pochettino could be sacked.

And The Media say United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are hoping Pochettino is sacked so they don’t have to pay Spurs more than £30m in compensation.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will sack Pochettino at a last resort.

BBC announcing more England friendlies for March and June.

I honestly don't see the point in international friendlies months before a tournament. 10 days and 2 games as a squad isn't long enough to 'gel' or 'know each other's game' (whatever cliche term they want to use) when they're going straight back to their normal clubs after it to play with completely different players under a different manager with different formations and styles. Plus it causes mayhem with fixture congestion, injuries and squad harmony (hi Raheem). What is any international manager honestly going to learn from it?

Would rather they scrap them entirely, finish the season a few weeks earlier instead and then let them toddle off to the international camp. Would mean the England manager then has a longer time with them in a solid block rather than bits and moments dotted all around with no continuity. They'll also have full knowledge of injuries prior to this and no need to make last minute changes.

    Just seems daft.
