From what I've gathered Torres has been playing really well, as far as his movement and passing, but he just can't score. I know Its a bit odd, but I was impressed(probably not the right word I'm looking for, but It'll have to do) with how De Gea didn't go to ground after Torres beat him. Most Keepers would have drawn a penalty, and a possible red card in that situation. I know I would have!
The thing is that Torres did what he did early. He didn't think, just acted. If he delayed, De Gea would have been closer and in a position to dive at his feet. Like his goal as well, just natural instinct.
It was a bad miss once he got past the colinder but you can't compare what he did to someone who just misses a simple tap in tee'd up by someone else. The run and the move past the keeper was class and many a player wouldn't have even got in that position to miss. I just hope the goal (which was also a class run and finish) is enough to keep the improvement coming. This fixture came too early in the season for us but the signs were there that we can compete and maybe had the linesman had a good game, it may have been a different story.
In Fairness to Berbatov, Rooney over hit his pass and he had to adjust his body and couldn't get power behind it, and Cole mad a class save to keep it out. At least Berbatov got it on goal.
Ah yes dear old Berbatov the forgotten plastic the only premier league player who makes the panda look hyper-active.
Yet his movement was one of the reasons why we kept the ball so much better when he came on. Paradox much?
Justice for your entirely deserved defeat? Or Justice for Torres's lack of ability to hit an open goal?
They were hardly disgraceful. Fractional and the defending for the 1st in particular you can't pin on the linesman. Besides just consider us even for the decisions you got last year.
Smallings wasn't fractional he was one body width in front of everybody, that decision solely won the game for you at a time when Chelsea were running riot. Even though we were cheated out of it we still had more possession, more shots on & off target and more corners and the 2500 Chelsea fans largely outsung your rabble yet again. Are you sure you were at OT?
Not that your bitter or anything though. Smalling's goal was the one where your entire defense stood still yes?
Not bitter but like your lot we also cry at injustice, only fools use them to say that balances previous incidents. We were better but you got the result, I'm not too upset with that really it just proves that for all our supposedly old team and slow movement we caused you so many problems. Also I would also say that it showed everybody that we will hotly contest this years title yet again.
