We have no idea how many civilian deaths can be attributed to the action or inaction of the men on the ground, there will never be any way of knowing sadly. No one has accurate figures but I certainly don't lay the blame squarely on the Troops' shoulders, especially when you yourslf have said that they never went through choice, they like others before them were sent by Politicians. They should not be immune from rebuke or punishment but they should not be blamed for doing their jobs in a very dangerous part of the world.

Atrocities are committed in every war, some more than others but I just don't subscribe to these numbers that are bandied abround. The fact they are highlighted when they do occur tells me they are rare events.

your troops went to kill people for a lie, they have all now realised it was a lie but the majority will keep taking the money. at least some have the decency to go awol or kill themselves

    I agree.

The war there is pointless and was just for some oil , at the expense of more than 2m Afghanis and Iraqis and of course thousands of British soldiers.

Just for the wealth of the elite <ok>

It's the corrupt and unjust world we live in at the moment.

    "Heres your British Army"

bloody hell, i know theres been cut backs in millitary spending but i didnt realise it was this drastic?.

are you sure these numbers are correct Eddie? i would of thought the British Army numbered a few more than this, still, you learn something new everyday.

still, fair play to them, they do get about.

Tbh the cases against the military in one form or another are actually a lot more than what eddie is highlighted.
and are all over the world. If you look at the high profile cases only they may appear minimal.

Dev I dont know if you can shed light from during your time, but there are cover ups and there are dismissals or 'telling offs' for offences.

I know for example that there are allegations of british soldiers involved in the child sex trade in places where they are 'peacekeepers'. The accusers are 100% certain but it is difficult to prove and easier to cover up. same with drugs.

The whole notion of 'not their fault, as its the politicians' doesnt wash with me either in all honesty. When I hear generals asked direct questions they always toe the official line. and the whole we were told there was evidence (WMD's) doesnt wash because we all found out it was lies, but they continue to toe the line

The fact is you cant paint all soldiers with the same brush, but in the case of iraq the soldiers repelling the illegal invading forces were in the right from where I am standing.

(a,b) What's your source? Ignorance, idle gossipmongering, guesswork, propaganda or just more lies?

We are taling about the "British Army" and yet you - just like edddie- have gone off on some deranged tangent to "the military in one form or another".

Don't be such a ****ing moron and make accusations like that until you have evidence, it's insulting not only to me but people's intelligence.

I heard the moon was made of green cheese. ****ing idiot that you are.
