The video that Page posted shows a section of fans racially abusing Gomez. So Sterling's petulance has not only left an international teammate with a minor injury but he's also been the sole cause of encouraging yet another racist outburst. He and he alone is guilty of bringing the game into disrepute but he's English (or plays for England) so expect no punishment whatsoever.
I really don't understand why you would Boo a player that was coming on to play for your country, regardless of what he had perceived to have done. I do however question putting him in the position to begin with rather naïve. Anyroad up if I was present when the booing happened, instead of filming it I would have told them to "Shut the **** up". Massive knobs with no idea or conscience, hope the lad treats it as it should be, forgets it and move on, hope he let's his talent shine through, and the same idiots that once were booing him will very soon be singing his name. (Same as Sterling funnily enough). Its a sad indictment of the society we live in when people judge without having the full facts before making said judgement, as they did many years ago, we never seem to learn. History repeats, the situations may change but the judgement stays the same.
You can’t blame Sterling for a fellow black player receiving racial abuse by morons. His punishment for the spat with Gomez was him being dropped, the reaction of so called England fans to Gomez as a result of that, is down to their pig ignorance and inherent racism.
Unfortunately, there are millions of people in the world; some are bound to be idiots and beyond help! @Red Hadron Collider
Ergo racial abuse...WTF has booing got to do with racial abuse, Tobe's get real what happened had no racial intent whatsoever. If you treat every difficult situation involving a person of colour as racism you are in danger of trivialising the whole issue and it is not right to treat it as such.
In this instance I can blame Sterling and I do. The litmus test is would Gomez have been booed if he hadn't have been involved in an incident with Sterling?
Read it again and you imply inherent racist abuse from So called England fans that may well have been of many races colours and creeds, don't judge was the message I was trying to put forward, before you have the facts. Oh and witnessed it for yourself. Im sat on my fat ass as usual.
