Is this looking at the map? There are lots of communists and very far right supporters in France, not many in the middle.
There are also lots of very far right supporters within the Tory party. The ones from the middle have left in disgust.
Wasn't Dave due another dose of chemo / radiotherapy around now? Agreed it is slightly worrying that we've not seen his early goodnight, let alone good morning. Maybe something or nothing, I guess. In other news, Mrs Fez sees the surgeon in the oncology department over at Oxford tomorrow. That I'm unable to accompany her, having had surgery myself, isn't helping my mood. She had the CT scan last Thursday. We hope for the best, don't expect the worst, but reckon it will be somewhere in between more of a fight than it might be if the carcinoma has got to, or is too close to, the lymph nodes in the area. I dread to think how much this would cost without the NHS, and given that she was being treated for something that on rare occasions does develop into cancer I very much doubt that a private health insurance scheme would cover us. Sorry for veering into political waters but it needs to be said.... maybe the Mods might transfer half of this post onto another thread? No politics in the nest...
Dave did say that he was due to start some radiotherapy, but as far as I know he was waiting for a date. Really hope that all goes well for Mrs Fez tomorrow and the results create the minimum of worry. I do not think it is necessary to move part of the post. It is totally on topic, and it is not even slightly controversial. Weather forecasters, farmers, even organisations to protect wildlife have some political background. Cut them out and I would have little to say first thing each day.
I am working out ways in which a weather forecast can be 'political' Frenchie ! Religious yes - 'The sun will shine on the righteous' 'The heavens will open in torrents on the sinners' - but political ?
It depends on who pays for the forecaster. Have enough funds been provided for equipment? Taking away our local service from Poitiers and make us do with one from Toulouse to save money. Do we even get good value from the service? Very political decisions.
Morning all. The sun is breaking through, but we did have more rain overnight. Finally cracked the agence nationale des titres sécurisés web site to renew Mme's French driving license. You go to a photo booth to get your up to date photo, and put your signature on a small panel. The photos come out with a very long number that you can put into the website, which it will recognise, and show you your photo and signature. You then scan your passport and electricity bill, add them to your photo and signature, and send them off. If you have followed the process correctly within a couple of hours you receive an e-mail to say that your new card will be sent to you within a few days. All very clever stuff and it seems to work once you understand the terminology they use. Have a good day one and all.
This sounds complicated Frenchie but similar to renewing British passports from here. Mine runs out at the beginning of December and the Consulate in Düsseldorf no longer handles passport applications directly. So apparently I have to get a digital photo with a code - and then give the code number in - not sure how it all works yet, but I'll be finding out soon. If it's too much hassle then I may just leave it for now and use only my German passport - though it's nice to have both in the hand.
You might not be allowed in on a foreign passport after Brexit, apparently we are closing up shop according to some remainers.
I've got time to think about that SH. To be absolutely honest I haven't been to Britain within the last 4 years anyway.
I have to go this weekend for my grandsons 18th birthday. I think I need to buy a helicopter so that I can pop in and out quickly without having to face the state of the roads.
Hello all, just home from hospital. Over last weekend I was passing lots of blood in my urine which became blood with lots of clots which eventually blocked my urethra. By 6 pm on Monday my bladder was full and I was unable to pass anything at all. I called an ambulance on Tuesday afternoon in absolute agony. At the hospital five different medics tried to get a catheter in but none of them could get through the blocked urethra so they called the urology consultant surgeon. He came from home and within ten minutes he had got a catheter in and emptied my bladder. I now have to keep the catheter in for at least twelve weeks. I have a bladder scan booked for Monday afternoon and soon after that my intensive radiotherapy will begin. Sorry for long winded post but I saw that you have missed me
Dave it sounds really painful and not very nice. Still I am really pleased to see you back with us. Seems that a lot of us look out for your morning and evening posts. Take care of yourself.
