**** me, if they get that then I’m in the wrong job.
I get covered in blood, **** and vomit...deal with death on a daily basis...get stressed to the eyeballs....all for £12 a ****in hour !!!

Luckily I haven’t had a break for over 6 months and I am always at least 30 mins late off each day (we get paid overtime and compensation)....otherwise I’d REALLY struggle financially. :(

so what do you do if you aren’t in a specialist field? Classed as an ‘unskilled’ worker? Your job prospects are seriously limited, just **** off out of London?

Universal Credit is the answer, add that to the £15 an hour and those burgers will really go down a storm...

so a burden on the system is better than businesses paying an appropriate living wage?

Universal Credit is Labour policy isn't it? Corbyn is championing £15 an hour for the burger-flippers. Sounds like a vote-winner don't you think or will that put you off Labour?...

Yougov poll tonight gives Tories a 14 point lead on labour.
YouGov who would make the best PM 40% Boris 16% Jezza and 14% Swinson

The actual figure for my hourly rate is £12.3834......funny thing is we recently had a review and got upgraded. The hourly rate before the upgrade was £10.7853 !!!!.

Cant complain ‘cos I went into the job knowing the pay wasn’t great but I do sometimes feel it would be easier working at Tesco’s for near enough the same pay....less stress for sure.

I'm truly shocked Staines! My hat goes off to you. This is a prime example of the society we live in. The life savers of the world get paid less than people who stack shelves or sit on their arse tapping into a computer ( might be important though so tongue in cheek there).

I know cleaners who get more than that! My sister in law works with the elderly for the NHS. The things she has to do and the hours she works are scandalous. Something I could never do! She is 35, will never be able to afford her own home, has one holiday every 3 years and struggles with her bills. All so she can look after old people whose families either cant or cant be arsed!

My middle brother is a deputy head at a pretty rough school. Classes of over 30 kids, under funded, teachers leaving in record numbers, supply teachers earning more than regular teachers and not having to truly give a ****! Standard of education dropping. Threatened at gun point escorting scared children home! Hes quitting this year! This country is going to the dogs

To be fair I’m lucky mate. I had a well paid job for 30 years which meant I’ve now got a small mortgage. And my mum died a few years back and left me a nest egg which I dip into when the going gets tough (most months).....if it wasn’t for that I probably would of left by now.
At least I can now say I’ve done my dream job for a few years, even if I quit tomorrow.....and I’ll always be able to know I’ve seen someone’s first breath and I’ve seen someone’s last....

You see, we up here in the North (south to Steel) are a funny bunch. A lot of my mates dont describe themselves as 'working class' anymore, despite working just to get by. They have it in their heads that 'working class' are poor people with jobs who have to use food banks or bulk their income with benefits. They shop at Waitrose to try justify their belief. They vote Tory as they really dont want to see themselves in the 'working class category'. Society has changed, they will reap what they sow.

Seriously mate, my hat goes off to you and all your colleagues up and down the country. I had my dream job full time coaching, USA, Holland, Spain, Italy and here at home. Great as a single bloke but when it came time to settle I just couldn't earn enough so went back to the old plastering which I did from leaving school (old style apprentice). Just coach part time now. I earn more in a single day plastering than I did in a week coaching but dont love it like I did the old football.

Hats off to you too mate. I took a weeks plastering course a few years back and **** me, that can be some back breaking, hard work. A good plasterer is worth his weight in gold.

    nope.... the slave owners

another fun fact three times as much of British land is used for grouse moors than is for residential property, six times if you were to discount gardens.

Theres good money to be earned of you get a good reputation. My problem is finding good lads to work for me. Got a great Polish lad (more a yorkshire man now) and on my 4th apprentice! No youngsters are going into the trade anymore. Did have another great plasterer but he kept overdosing every other week and I just couldn't have him on the job.
