Where was Kane?, Henderson played a true captains role in the incident, he gets loads of stick by opposition fans but in this case he deserves praise.
You're right.

I just listened to Southgate's comments about the incident and he says that while Sterling lost it "it's fair to say Joe didn't". Pleased to hear this. Maybe some of Virgil's cool and calm "who cares" is rubbing off on him - or he's just not easily riled himself. Either way it looks like he showed Sterling who 'the big man' (or bigger man) is.

Yeah I agree, it takes a bigger man to stand back, but Sterling is lucky Joe didn't step forward.
Sterling thinks he's the dogs gonads these days with all the press plaudits etc, but it's so easy to remember all his foolishness, he's lauded about his strong stance on racism yet immediately backed Silva up when he was accused of stereotypical racism.
Yes he's still young with a lot to learn, but it looks like those around him at club level are as arrogant if not more than Man U during their pomp.
Singing songs about Sean Cox getting battered in the street tells you all you need to know about Sterling and his teammates.

Sterling should never play for England again after the pathetic little bitch slashed Joe's face

I'd forgotten about that terrible song the team sang. Again no sanctions.

I actually think a bit of argy bargy after the game is okay as long as it's not violent but 2 days later grabbing Joe round the neck after he held out his hand to shake it, smacks of something more than post match anger. Long story short, Sterling still hasn't grown up.

Rio Ferdinand reckons Southgate is out of order because hes hung Sterling out to dry, waffling on about during his time players punched eachother and even kicked eachother in the head, reckons anything that happens should be kept in house.

Good old Rio. I know I probably shouldn't say this because I definitely believe there is outright racism in all areas of football but I'm glad there's no possibility of this being race related either or he'd be all over that.

I can't see any defence for Sterling in this one. I don't know if Southgate was right or wrong in speaking about it but how would he explain Sterling's absence otherwise?

Just one drug user defending another
