Kante remains the best holding midfielder in the world.

Struggling after that. I think Maddison would get into either midfield and for all many won’t agree I think Lucas Digne and Ben Chilwell very close for best LB, whilst completely agreeing Robertson is absolutely superb.

A CB pairing of Laporte and van Dijk would have literally everything you've ever dreamed of in a CB pairing.

Would City have the bollocks to put a bid in for him? That would be an insane amount of money for him to move as he is a cracking defender, just won champions league and also storming the league with Liverpool looking like champions elect.

    Edit:

He deserves more than cracking defender tbf best CB in the world IMO.

They could put a bid in all they liked mate, there’s no chance in a million universe that either a) Liverpool accept or b) he goes.

He chose Liverpool. He only wanted to go to Liverpool.

These are unquestionably the 2 best sides in the world at the minute, which just makes it staggering what Chelsea and Leicester are doing.

Rodgers and Lampard are doing very, very well especially Lampard considering playing in CL and has a transfer ban.

Can see him having a good future in management and winning a fair few trophies.

Love the way he has them playing as well.

That Chelsea transfer ban is wonderful for England.

Take Dier out and put Mount in we are immediately 20% better, add Tammy as genuinely viable back up for Kane and Hudson Odoi as an absolute wildcard, with Maddison as well, and we’ve suddenly got a midfield to compete.

Crying shame that for once ever we’ve no ****ing CB apart from Maguire though.

There's definitely an argument for Kante. A Premier League midfield trip for me though would be Fabinho, De Bruyne and Eriksen.

I'm a fan of both Chilwell and Digne but I think Robertson edges them.

All great shouts though. Van Dijk and Laporte would be impenetrable.

Viable argument for all mate. I do still think Kante by a mile personally, but the way Fabinho is coming on is immense given how far short he looked.

Robertson and Digne are so similar, both have defensive flaws and incredible delivery. Just happens one is playing for a top side and one isn’t. Nowt between them.

Chilwell is a better defender than both, and while he doesn’t have the impact in terms of fizzing crosses in, he’s involved in a huge amount of Leicester attacks with lovely sharp passing.

I proper rate him, easily England’s best LB now, easily.

That will be a great watch.

City are a better side but Chelsea are fearless and bordering on a wild card at the minute.

Add that City can not afford to drop anything and that’s gonna be a great watch.

Mind, it’s the kind of game City turn up and win 4-0. It’s only because it’s City that we aren’t already saying Liverpool have got it.

City are a magnificent side, and today could easily have went the other way.

That said, I can’t see Liverpool blowing it. If they’d have beaten City in the league last year they’d have won it. That single game may be the be all and end all.

If he is trying hes failing, it's as if he can't be arsed.

Maybe a bit of a I should be in management not a pundit tantrum.

If Chelsea win that then you can't say Lampard hasn't earned his due's. People said it's just because of who he was as a player which has opened more doors which is also has for other players but those doors easily slam shut.

He's a clever bloke can see him having a good career in management.

5 in a row in PL and looking like will get to KO stages of the CL all with a transfer ban. Without Hazard as well..

    Well done!
