Morning all. Bright and breezy at present, but more rain forecast during the day. I haven't been to the fields for a couple of days, but suspect that my water butts must be filling up quickly. I am thinking about getting some more as I emptied all six of them this summer, and taking water from here is not easy. I must get down there and continue to move logs as the météo suggest it will get colder as the week passes. Looks as if I have plenty to do both inside and out. Have an enjoyable day.
Morning all. Wet and not very warm in rural France. A whole new industry has been created here with the governments pledge to insulate your home for €1. It is a remarkable scheme and makes a whole load of sense, but the advertising has created dozens of phone calls every day from companies eager to carry out the work. We just don't bother to answer the phone anymore believing that if someone we know wants us they will leave a message. Have a good day whatever you must do.
Free insulation and sometimes free new boilers have been offered to qualifying groups for years in the UK. Of course the cost is either paid by other consumers and /or the governments borrowed money tree.
Morning all. Grey and damp and not very inviting outside. I need to get my skates on as I have to be in town in half an hour to have the car serviced. It is amazing how quickly 20,000 kms goes by when you live in these rural areas. Have a good day whatever you must do.
Morning all and a rare weather report from Dunblane, expertly deduced by looking out of the window. Looks dry, overcast with high cloud and a little chilly. The Autumn colours are wonderful this year. Last night we went to a cinema screening of ballet from the Royal Opera House. These screenings provide some background to the performances back stage where I noticed a big poster of Arsene Wenger hung high up on a wall - it took my eye of Darcy Bussell .
Morning all. A beautiful sunny start to the day with a clear blue sky, and not a cloud to be seen. With showers forecast for this afternoon something has to change. I arrived at the garage yesterday for the car service, which they do while I wait, but having started realised that they didn't have an air filter that was due to be changed. So spent the day with their Clio which was quite impressive for a small car. It mucked up my day as I had to go back later in the day to collect my car, and there were things I wanted to do. Still that is life, I will do them today. Enjoy your day.
Tremendous rainfall here.. Flooding, vast areas under water etc etc.. The water table in my area which is old English for marshlands is almost up to ground level.. And gardens are filling up with water..
Morning all. It is raining here as well as in the north of England. It really looks bad around Sheffield. I have seen that after the drought we experienced this summer that we need 14 days of continuous rain to restore the underground reservoirs to their normal levels. I hope that it comes in bits at a time as it really stops me from doing the things I should be doing to prepare for the winter. Hoping for a good result tonight. Looks as though I will see only the first half of my local teams game tonight as the second half will clash with the Watford game. Enjoy your day whatever the weather.
We are going up to Swaledale for a family weekend in an old house in the country... should be fun..... but may be very cold and possbily some snow ....
