Sounded excellent and he was spot on with everything he said about the FOL, BOL and AOL.

Could hear how much he cares about the club still in his voice, he is gutted I think that he sold it to Short.

He sold it to the Irish lads, but aye, he had his limitations but at least he left something good when he went, can imagine him being pretty upset about what has happened since

Did to me like not fully though show yet like got it on BBC IPlayer but from what he was saying how we are a premiership house in the third the division and we could get the 49k back if rightly run he is spot on.

Let’s not rewrite history mind. He made millions out of safc, he also let two top seven finishes result in an awful 17th finish and letter saying things would not go as bad again, which resulted in the 19 point season, which imo we’ve never recovered from

Sound bloke, got us to the point where the Irish lads could take over <doh> and then resulted in us being in charge in billionaires. Can tell he still cares and for me that is enough.

I noticed that he said if he was he would come out publicly and show his appreciation for what they have done for the club but he hasn't.

I'm not rewriting history, I've admitted he had limitations (had we backed Reid more when we were 7th we might at least have got European football and who knows what would have happened thereafter). All I'm saying is that at least he can look back on his time and see that he put something good in place having overseen the stadium move. I also think it's very harsh to say we've never recovered from the 19 point season. Once Short came in we had someone with plenty of money to ensure we kicked on and we had a decade in the Premier League. I'd say we'd recovered pretty well from the 19 point season at that stage, had Short been even half decent at making appointments we'd likely have been a regular top half fixture. Having left us with the stadium and the infrastructure to challenge you can understand how upsetting it must be for him to see us like this though

Never had us as low as we are now though did he?

Not looking for any arguments I'm just saying he sounded like he still cared and is gutted the way the club has went like we all are.

To be seen though if the Irish hadn’t came, we were rock bottom and lost the first four of the following season

of course Murray has to be applauded on the Sol etc but he didn’t do it for charity. He made millions and brought wilkinson

We spent most of the ten years in the bottom six. Yes we had glorious results and a trip to wembley under short but we have never looked capable of repeating a 7th place finish

in that respect, imo we have never recovered

Spot on hopefully we get again to one of those points where we can kick on but have the right people behind us to actually do it.

He also mentioned people he knew within Man C who said the way it was run was top class presuming comparing to us. Wonder if he knows more than we all do and that is a message out to other.

I'd take Murray back over these two chancers who are running the club nowadays in a heartbeat.

I get that we never looked like getting top 7 again but I'd argue that was nothing to do with the 19 point season. We had recovered from that, what held us back after Short came in was simply his absolute inability to run a football club. Had he got someone like Levy involved instead of a chancer like De Fanti and a useless twat like Congerton we'd have quite easily broken into the top 7 imo, so I still say it's unfair to say we never recovered from the 19 point season, much though it obviously did a lot of damage to the club
