Fook sake bro, I had to know basic UK employment law for years. Stop worrying, jeez you're becoming paranoid.
I get it in hours rather than days, think it's 260/70 ish. And yeah it will go up with long service but don't think that starts until 10 or more even.
You weren’t legally entitled to it though, it was purely at the discretion of your employer how much holiday they offered. The working time directive made the EU minimum 20 days plus BH’s.
Like I said, UK employment law is pretty strong, and that's largely because it's been aligned with EU law. I think there was a case a few years ago where some Indian workers were brought over to build a Hindu temple. The construction company claimed that because they were employed in India and brought to the UK on an Indian contract, they could justify paying them something like 30p an hour. I can't remember the details of the case, but UK employment law found the company guilty and made them pay them minimum wage.
The Tory Govt objected to the working time directive when it first arrived in 1993 btw and have done consistently ever since. Sovereignty though, we need to be able to sack off employment law that Tories don’t like......
As I said, i've been working since 16, so I don't think I'm going to start worrying about hours after all these years, and I've done numerous jobs in my lifetime, so sleep well sweet prince and don't let it worry you too much x
The only employment law that ever bothered me, was when i left school at 15 and the fookers wouldn't employ me until I was 16, I was raging
Rees Mogg will have kids back up chimneys soon enough mate. Talking of that ****, his comments on Grenfell ffs The pompous self entitled ****e let his mask slip when he made those remarks “you & I would have used common sense” lumping the interviewer - fellow right winger Nick Ferrari - into some self decided group that he was patently suggesting were of a higher intelligence level, than the ‘sheep’ who merely obeyed the Fire Service instruction and who couldn’t see the outside of the ****ing building.
Think I started out well without the EU's help thanks bruv. Left with no qualifications at 15, and became Mortgage free in the following decades. All my stamp is paid up too. It's called work mate. Going on the internet worrying about future holidays and minimum wage didn't help me get all that and i got no help along the way.
