Did he play for the u23s? He has been a really confusing one for me this season, looked promising in pre-season but hasn't even has a look in so far.
Looks like he played for the under 23s against West Brom in the middle of October, but not in the two subsequent games, so goodness knows what's going on with him.
When he first came to us he was described as not match fit, I can only assume that he has not done enough to impress the coaches!
Sorry I didn't get to your question earlier. It was early morning here. Luckily Gandy was on the ball. Roberts wasn't in the U23's team on Friday; maybe he was being considered for Saturday if Todd couldn't play. The way we've been giving away the ball with poor passing, and making ill-advised attempts to dribble between two defenders (and losing the ball), it would be good to see Roberts get a chance.
Interesting from Matt Howman - 'From the moment we achieved promotion my view has always remained the same: the players that earned us promotion fully deserved a run in the Premier League and the chance to test themselves at the highest level. Eleven games in, we are seeing that all of our players can perform at this level, however perhaps not displaying it consistently enough thus far, that would earn the points required to stay up. The club could go out in January and add some additional resources, but at the moment we are seeing a squad of players giving 100pc effort and application, so perhaps another view is that we carry on as we are and if we do get relegated as a result, we just accept it and go again next season, with a squad of players better developed and more experienced as a result.' Also, I see that 71% of respondents would prefer us to be in the Championship!! <doh https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...-column-on-missing-the-championship-1-6356452
If Klose is out for the season, we should add another CB. Then it depends on whether any others leave, like Max to Spurs or Ben to ManUre. Certainly if we stick to the present players we need to achieve more than we are at the moment, as McLean points out: "It's up to us to take responsibility, we need to defend better first and foremost, to give ourselves a platform to go and have a chance of winning games," said McLean. "And then when we do that we've got to create a lot more. We've got a guy at the top end of the pitch (Pukki) whose movement and finishing is second to none, and we're giving him nothing. So we need to take a long, hard look at ourselves. It's been a tough few weeks, we need to go back to the drawing board all over the pitch and it's not just stopping goals or creating chances. It's hard to take because I know we've got the quality, it's just not happening. We need to go and make things happen and it's up to us to take responsibility to go and make that happen." https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/brighton-2-norwich-0-mclean-reaction-1-6355552
Great article and well spotted Rick. The entire team (with the exception of TK) need to 'step up to the plate!!!' Let's just hope that we don't lose on Friday and we then have an International break before our trip to Goodison Park.
There's an article on Norwich NewsNow by Weblog, I have no idea how reliable they are but they claim we had agreed a fee and wages for Jordan Rhodes only for Sheffield Wednesday to block it! Edit :- it's Read Norwich (Weblog) so not very reliable
So the club's financial accounts have been posted. What's the betting there will still be idiots asking where has all the money gone?
What price 17th place this season? Should we believe that the powers that be at NCFC are not concerned about this as they will pick up at least £100m this season and a significant parachute payment when we are relegated?
Should we believe that? Of course not; no question of it. What price 17th place? Anything the club can afford without significantly diminishing our financial comfort level should we be relegated.
One could make a half decent argument that perhaps relegation and immediate promotion may be better for the long term than staying up, although perhaps not purely in financial terms. There are a couple of scenario's I can see happening 1) Stay up, get PL money next year, have to sell our best prospects cause they kept us up, whilst paying over inflated prices for PL experience !!!! 2) Get relegated, pretty much keep our existing squad, promotion season & come up with our existing players most of who you would have hope had developed into PL quality players.
