When Saints score how do you celebrate?

Discussion in 'Southampton' started by CBK, Sep 19, 2011.

?

How do you celebrate a Saints goal?

  1. Jump up, one fist clenched and pumping furiously

  2. Jump straight up, both hands raised straight before clapping above my head

  3. Hugger, I grab the nearest person to me

  4. Bundler, I tend to fall side to side or forward and bang my shins on the seats

  5. I gently rise out of my seat and applaud in a civilised manner

  6. Jump up and down in little hops and clapping like a silly girl

  7. I almost fall out of my armchair/bed/internet chair at home

I bet if you asked most of the early leavers what they're in a rush for they wouldn't even know the answer, seems everyones in a rush to get nowhere nowadays.

"Jump straight up, both hands raised straight before clapping above my head"

On the whole probably that, but depends on the goal....Lamberts equaliser against Pompey was 'jumping round like a lunatic and hugging the person behind me'.

Papa Waigos goal against Norwich in the JPT, I ended up miles away from my seat!

Also same can be said of me as Jen sometimes <ok>

I find myself shouting "you beauty!" quite often when we score. Along with the obligatory "get in there!"

Mate of mine used to shout "C'MON ON!" repeatedly. We called him Gary Glitter. Sadly events meant that nickname got dropped in these sensitive times.

Must admit I do find myself occasionally shouting that oft used phrase, GET IN..! Which I always find amusing afterwards because the ball has obviously already GOT IN well before the time I've shouted it. <laugh>

I've lost count the amount of times I've skinned my shins on the seat in front when we've scored a goal.

I've calmed down a bit over the years, used to be a bundler now I voted for option 2.

I used to jump around a bit, but we're scoring so much these days you tend to get a bit blasé about it. It's more "Come on lets get another couple and put this to bed early" this season.

You should post this on the Skate board "how do you celebrate a corner?"

Most times on the terraces, it was the best idea to jump around because if you stood still, there was a good chance someone behind you would knock you off your feet unexpectably from behind.

I never liked leaning against the terrace crash barriers (in retrospect and after hillsborough, that was a rather crass name for them). You could get squashed if everyone was bundling behind you and you had no where to go. Was always a good tip to stand directly in front of the barrier to avoid that scenario

Could also tell if it was a good game with lots of goals by how many bruises you had on your legs and arms the following day.

I think they turn to the pompey fan next to them and first frantically wave their arms to get their attention before using a loud-hailer to inform them of the wonderful news about the corner.

im a hugger - fortunately my cousin is next to me so its not awkward to hug him so much.

it would b more realistic for me if this poll had an option of:
"hug person next to you, release, immediately turn to the away fans and start shouting abuse having not made eye contact with them the whole game until a goal went in"

I jump up and down repeatedly, clapping, cheering and generally going mental, before signing the song related to the Goalscorer in full voice.

When I was a Teenager stood on the terraces, if there was a fit looking bird nearby my mate would jump on her when everyone went mental after a goal, and cop a feel. I think it's called sexual assault nowadays, but the women either didn't mind, or thought it was an accident. He did it for years, and nobody ever complained..........

Yep, similar to what I mentioned about the girls at the back of the Milton earlier. They clearly enjoyed a mass grope as they came back week after week.
