Which of Utd, Spurs and Arsenal will win the race to the bottom? Great for Leicester who look very likely top four finishers.
With VAR/offside laws as it stands, if Jo Swinson ever takes up football she would be offside wherever she stands on the pitch. But seriously, how long will it be before a woman footballer is called offside because she has bigger tits than her opponent? That will cause a real stink. Better to change the laws to feet only before that occurs.
Liverpool have a problem it seems. They play in Qatar in the world club thing and in England in league cup the same day.....and the league cup people want their game played that day. Klopp doesn't seem happy! No one checked the dates earlier, obviously!
Wouldn't be a problem if they were dealt with in the same manner as any other team who fielded an ineligible player in a cup match...
God I hope not, as that’ll likely mean one of Jose or Allegri taking over at Arsenal and we really don’t need any other teams to be picking up results at the moment.
Mourinho to Arsenal would end the same way as it always does for Jose, they’d be bottom half of the league at best and the dressing room would be toxic. I’d happily see him go there tbh.
I didn't want either of those managers coming to Arsenal, but we are so bad right now, I would consider taking them. I can't believe Emery's ruining this club so badly, it's got to the point where I am actually contemplating Mourinho at our club. What a shambles we are.
I think he’d immediately improve them though and that’s my concern. Eventually his ego would likely get the best of him again and then piss everyone off but I think he could provide a quick fix for Arsenal in terms of likely finishing top four - which they desperately need.
I’d love Allegri at Spurs. My heart still wants Poch to turn it around but my head says it’s gone too stale. If I had the choice right now of keeping Poch or hiring Allegri, I’d go with the latter.
Right now, I just want to see some improvement in any category. Whether it's style of play, defence, solidifying the midfield, getting more creativity, scoring more goals. Currently, I can't see us winning any game in any competition. And there are plenty of reports saying Emery's lost the dressing room already, and that players are losing faith in his ideas because they don't understand what he wants from them. I don't want Mourinho, but I am so desperate to see change, that I am considering it. And that thought process is purely because of how utterly clueless we are under Emery, rather than any genuine desire to see Mourinho manage us. Emery is an utterly shocking manager. I never thought he would be this bad. With the squad he has, he is absolutely one of the worst managers in the league.
I think his biggest crime is that he is too similar to Wenger in that he won’t sort the team out defensively. You’re 5th in the league though, Man Utd and Spurs fans would kill to be in that position.
If Emery stays at the club, I fear we will end up in mid table. Last season, I said that we were fortunate because we were creating far less chances than under Wenger. But our conversion rate was exceptionally high (the highest conversion % for Arsenal since Opta records began if I'm not mistaken). This was never going to be sustainable, so there was work needed to address this. This Summer, we've improved our squad and got rid of the majority of deadwood, yet this is the most sterile, bleak, dismal football I've seen in my lifetime. Teams have no fear playing us. We have 2 wins in our last 9 games. 6 wins from 18. We are somehow doing worse with a better group of players. I don't know how many of our games you've seen, but we play far too defensively which doesn't work because we're not capable of soaking up pressure so we inevitably concede. The tempo and flow of our passing is far too slow. We are creating even less than last year. We are struggling to have shots on target. Emery's substitutions and in-game management has cost us points, rather than give us points. He is playing players out of position. And he can't articulate his ideas to the team. He needs to go now before our season ends by Xmas.
