I suppose you would have to list Cody, Oli and Macnamee all as popular players who didn't really make it, although to be fair to them it was more down to a very rapid progression of the club. A progression they had little chance of keeping up with.
Martin Peters.Did really well for us but left for Sheffield Utd and achieved **** all after that.Really had a bright future ahead of him.
Really not sure, McNamee and Gill are good shouts. I would say Helveg, experienced, awesome hair but didn't really play well until towards the end of the season. Cureton, was awful. Three managers gave him a chance and he missed up all three times. I remember a game where we were playing through balls to him and he started running for them and then suddenly slowed down. He was then subbed, the same balls game through and the sub tried so much harder to get to this balls. He was so lazy. I rewmember a game against Southampton, he had a chance from about a foot by the post and completely missed it. It was awful.
Ryan Jarvis, always hoped he would come good, especially after scoring against Liverpool......He wore 23 too
Lee Power was another although he did do very well for us. Whatever happened to him. Lee, Lee, Lee Power. Lee, Lee, Lee Power.
Seem to remember he had a particularly good game against QPR (I think), and when he was interviewed, he was asked who his heroes were. his answer was a classic.....Ronnie and Reggie Kray. As you said Thai, he did quite well for us then seemed to disappear
