No it is wonderful. The brave GB Lions only lost narrowly to New Zealand, a country with only one professional rugby league club which has to play in the Australian League. If Gollum is on Sport Talk next week the programme will be devoted to it.

    S. Africa did a job on us, we peaked a game too early, however, if we hadn't then we would have gone out in the Semi-Finals.

Someone here asked me if I would prefer a Hull City win or England won the world cup, well I got the first part right, so come on City don't let me down.

I lived there for 2 years back in the 60's. Lost my mum there and ditched my first husband soon after. 6 months later I was married again and living in Australia.

Loved my time there but have never returned for a visit.

Woke up at 3.30 am today and didn't even know the RL was on telly. It was absolutely dreadful. Every move is exactly the same. Four tackles then aimlessly kick the ball, time and time again. I nodded off and when I woke up nothing had happened.
The RU ? Tactically beaten, bit naïve too, best team won.

Several of the armchair RU coaches on here were lavishly lauding England last week after the win against NZ. I was like a ginger stepchild with my cogent analysis that maybe it was a NZ off day rather than a potential world beating performance.

As I said, I know nowt about RU.

Seems today SA played to their strengths which is using their strength. They are massive bastards and England didn't seem to have a plan to beat that.

I don't know if all the hype and hoopla generated here works its way through to the players in Japan, but not for the first time and England sporting team seems to run out of gas or freeze when it really matters. Italia 90, Euro 96 and Russia 2018 spring to mind.

Premature jubilation whereas other countries seem to find the focus and nouse to win.

    Hardly surprising though..

We have plenty of local ****s who back 'their' clubs rather than support the local one.

Hull FC & LFC @ the Boks (they chose me) sort of thing
