The autistic spectrum is large and I’ve known kids at either end of it.

It’s a tough gig for parents when it’s at the more extreme end.

I've seen this story on SKY several times. I think this is when you are deemed as a risk to yourself or others. How that is measured I've no idea. I'm not suggesting btw the girl featured in the story is a risk.

As Tobes has stated, I assume it is at different levels/spectrums. I also believe that some can have a higher intelligience than they are given credit. I noted Comm mentioned Matth, but to me you are talking about the character traits you see, that does not mean he is of lessor intelligence. What you are seeing is social skills, not measure of intelligence.

    Eh?

Maybe lack of awareness to danger. Again nowt to do with measuring intelligence.

I'd think it was an extremely stupid thing to do, but that still is not a measure of your intelligience. Vincent Van Gogh cut off his ear, an extremely dumb thing to do, but again not a measure of his intelligence.

Bad example because his was psychotic episodes but....

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs along with Charles Darwin were all supposed to be on the autistic spectrum. Many more famous people too. You are measuring intelligence via social skill and the ability to do or not do dumb things, none of that is a measure of intelligience.

Didn't Matth not long ago, prove all his doubters wrong when he put up a clip of himself speaking Welsh. I'm sure there was a French one too. How many on here can speak three languages?

No not at all, you have yet to explain autistic.

So you want to call people, but no educate them?

WTF is autistic meant to mean?

Is it just another word for can we even dare to say the old terms like spakka etc?

If you don't like that sentence just say so

Some folk with Autism seem to be very gifted in certain things...it’s quite fascinating.

Personally I think modern society labels anything it doesn’t understand, with a negative tag.

Many geniuses don’t seem to quite fit into mainstream society and the expectancies of social norms it places on them.
