After yesterdays great win,he says we are good enough to claim 4th place.
Too early to tell maybe, but from what I saw over the weekend the signs are good.

If we can get a few more players fit, then we've certainly got a good chance.
It looks like we might have a few back for Stoke, which would be perfect timing.

Was that ever in doubt? We have a very good squad the question should be are we good enough to win. There is so much written about football it is easy to be sucked into what the so called experts say. From Hansen's you never win anything with kids, to Lawrensons famous expertise at predicting results. Two seasons ago Man.U, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal were set in stone as the top four, now only two are a good bet. There is only one team that stands out at the moment, Man U apart, the rest is up for grabs.

Totally agree as long as we keep key players fit we have the squad to be up there at the end of the season. Yesterday was the first game i have watched this season where we looked like we was going to score with every attack! Its also good our strikers are now getting goals and really think Adeboyar & Defoe compliment eachother perfectly!

If we play like how we did on Sunday every game then we'll definitely have a good chance of getting up there. If a few players can get fit and improve the competition for places that'll also bring out the best in players performance wise. Sandro said on his Twitter that he hopes to be fit for Stoke so that'll be a major boost and the OS said that Lennon was doubtful for the 'Pool which gives a sign that he's not far off. Plus I reckon the likes of Gallas, Rose and Pienaar won't be far off making a return too. Dawson seems to be the only one out long term wise and Tommy H seems to be getting a lot of niggling injuries all ready.

If they could all make it back for the Stoke game, then I'd be very happy.
Gomes; Corluka, Gallas, Bassong, Rose; Lennon, Huddlestone, Sandro, Pienaar; Dos Santos, Pavlyuchenko.
Rest the whole first XI for the trip to Wigan and field the above side against Shamrock Rovers on the Thursday, so that everyone's fit for the Gooners' visit.

If you assume that the Top Three places are between both Manchester clubs and Chelsea, then fourth is a three-horse race between Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs.

And at the moment, we're looking a very good bet for that fourth place.

    But who knows?

Perhaps we can do even better than that with a bit of luck.

Not convinced about Chelsea yet. Torres looked a lot better (apart from one very funny moment) so that bodes well for them. Just hope they keep faith with Lampard, cause I think he is gone.

I think the 2 Manchester clubs will certainly be in the top 4. Chelsea should do, but its not certain. Then its Spurs, Liverpool Arsenal, Stoke, Bolton and Sunderland for 4th. I think all 6 of these teams have a chance to get the 4th spot, with a good/bad run of form. All three of the bigger of those 6 teams have had a terrible result this season, and that shows they are all not just beatable but trashable. I'll be putting my beautiful shoes on at the end of the season though if Liverpool get 4th, but I only have hope at the moment.

I agree with HD, I think we'll need a few games just to see how Chelsea get on after the Utd result, they'll be the favourites to get top 3 out of us, 'Pool and goons don't get me wrong but I don't think it's as much of a guarantee (if that's the way to put it) as it was last season.

It's not these sort of games that will decide our fate. Motivating a side to play the Scousers at home is not the most difficult of jobs. However the games we "should" win have to be, whether we we win playing magnificently or ugly. On our day we can give anybody a game, but consistency is the key. If we continue to play like we did against Wolves and Historypool, there's no reason why not.

Man U have the squad, the results, and the manager to be confident of finishing 1 or 2. The rest? Man C have had two poor results on the trot after a blinding start, they have an amazing squad (on paper) but through the whole season they could still be found lacking. Chelsea perhaps the most unknown, new manager, new players, old players, they should certainly be up there. Arsenal & Liverpool are running on past glory, the only reason we are putting them up there is because it is unthinkable that they will fail, but I wonder. Spurs? we have the squad but we have also have the tradition of flattering to deceive, that's the beauty of being a Spurs supporter but you have to think we will succeed one day and we have not been in a better position to do it for years.

    In other words, I don't have a clue <laugh>

Difference this year is that any slackers could find themselves out of the team. With Hudd, Sandro, Lennon or VDV or Defoe not guarateed a spot, then the 11 picked should have no problems motivating themselves. I hope Harry rotates the team more this year.

As has been mentioned our big tests are when we go to place like Wigan- although we have quite a good record up there.
It also looks like some the injured brigade are on their way back, that will certainly put pressure on the current 1st team to keep performing.
Was nice though to see a centre forward doing what he is meant to do- made me feel a warm and fuzzy or was that the beers I was drinking at the time<cheers>

Yep, I thought after the City game there was no realistic chance at all of top 5, let alone top 4. After the Wolves I made my prediction for the season as 6th. Think that looks a little pessimistic now, naturally I won't change it now, but won't be surprised and will be delighted if it's two out :)

Spurs won't finish in the top four.. One swallow does not make a summer, and seeing as Liverpool played with 9 against 12 for a large chunk of that game, I wonder how you will get on when its 11v11 at Anfield.

I don't think Stoke, Bolton or Sunderland are anywhere near good enough to sustain a season long challenge for 4th, let alone finish there.

AVB is looking a bit out of his depth. In 6 games, Chelsea have scored 10 goals, only 3 of which have come before their first substitution. If he can't get the starting line up and system right soon they're going to start dropping points like the Gooners.

    Stop embarrassing yourself, KPR.
Have some class, like a lot of your fellow Liverpool fans have on here and just admit that you got slaughtered by a far superior team.

Can everyone else please ignore this poor WUMing attempt?
HD's sig should have put him in his place, but apparently he's intent on humiliating his club.

Same old, same old, KPR. You'd do well to listen to some of the other fans on your board.
