Me and Mrs Becclestone are off to the Goodwood Revival weekend, anyone else taking advantage of this pre winter, end of summer event.
Sadly no - Third grandson's birthday party, and visit by son-in-law's folks from USA for his birthday !. We've been before it was good fun. ENJOY. Be sure and take a camera.
Oh well Bergy, it sounds as though you will be gainfully employed with important family matters, make sure you do a good job, bring those grandson's up properly, now that is some serious responsibility, we will enjoy without question, camera fully charged and cravat ironed, Mrs Beccs has some new frocks, only thing is we couldn't find a hotel within 30 miles.
I'm not surprised about hotels full. You are likely to find a slow queue going into the car-park sites (fields) too. Muddy if its been raining. High-heels not appropriate !! Traffic leaving the site should disperse much easier.
Cosi, thanks, we will, have no fear. Bergy, I'm wearing my sensible shoes, no heels in public. See ya, off now.
I'm very sorry to have missed that. In my opinion the Spitfire is THE most beautiful machine ever made; and I don't restrict this to aircraft - I mean across all genres.
Guys, Mrs Beccs and me have just had the most memorable and enjoyable weekend, at the most unique event we have ever attended, very, very English you know. Bergy, Ten spitfires in understandable wartime disarray probably, Cosi, yes, I had tears in my eyes it was a truly beautiful sight, the previous day the Spits were escorting a four Merlin engined Lancaster. And Mrs Beccs was stopped by several folk and complemented upon her appearance, she looked stunning, those two new frocks did the trick.
Cosicave - I would have to argue the case for Concorde, and the 'Evening Star' or 'Mallard' locomotives. Ernie - so glad you had a spiffing time old chap. sounds like you better steer clear of us old lechers - else Mrs takes a shine to our olde worlde charms.
I say steady on, take me for a frightful bounder, would you? I usually find a little lingering kiss of the back of the hand - and the lady just melts.....
Hehehehe⦠just keep me out of arms reach Ernie. Then again, I'd like to reassure you that the impression I hope you've gleaned over the years is accurate: I always play by Queensbury rules and will never over-step an unwritten mark. Real contracts exist on olde fashioned handshakes; and unlike Bergy, I'm not a cad!
Actually "Ye" is a derivative of you or your "Thee" is pronounced "The" and any word that has an "e" on the end such as Olde the "e" is ignored, so for example "Ye Olde Worlde Pub", would be pronounced "Your Old world Pub" even in ye oldene times. It had something to do with sign writers and type face. God bless QI. And so sorry to have bored ye
Meph: In the end, you are exactly--what you are. Put on a wig with a million curls, put the highest heeled boots on your feet, yet you remain in the end just what you are. No, not bored.
Bergy, Cosi, I know both of you are gentlemen, but Mrs did look pretty stunning and we have never shook hands, yet. This is what you missed
