What would it take to get wenger sacked?

How far would we have to fall before the board decided it was time for him to go?

Champions League elimination at the group stage?

Lower than 8th at Xmas?

Team Rows?

What would it take?
 
If that time comes during the period I think he may just go on his own volition. I would really hate for him to have to be shown the door. If that were to happen I think the hypocrisy would be too much to bear since some of those who may have voted for his possible dismissal would not themselves be without blame in respect of our current situation.
 
Dunno, no matter how bad we do it will still be a shock to me if they sack him. Thats said I can't see him staying if we are 20 points clear of 4th place around January.

I dont think that would do it.

It took 2 games for us to overcome the mighty Leighton Orient

If we dont make CL , or any chance of getting close i see him going.

To be honest i think if the next 4 or 5 games dont change DRAMATICALLY i dont see him surviving even that.

Lets look at the facts.
The worst start for a season in 53 years.

Pat rice says we have turned a corner , the very next game we are a feckin shambles.

He and Wenger dont seem to even have any knowledge of how a game is going to go.
Its like the write out tactics on a *** packet before the game and hope for the best.
 
I don't see wenger being sacked mid season
I think the club can see it'll be best to sort it out after the season giving the new manager a fresh start and a whole pre season etc
and wenger won't quit, he's always said he'll see out a contract no matter what.
 
The only way wenger would get sacked would involve a massive scandal, e.g. he was caught doing lines of coke before a game. Would never happen, so wenger will probably never leave.

Sack him and then be forced to give a new manager money to build his own squad? NEVER. This is the Arseal board we are talking about. Wenger is their dream manager.
 
The only way wenger would get sacked this year is if we finish outside the top 10.


At the moment that seems like a possibility.

Our form since march has been absolutely pathetic.
 
I'd like to think Arsenal behave differently to others.
Yes things aren't great right now but sacking the most successful manager in the clubs history will achieve nothing, and for those who are keen to see AW go do you have any ideas for a replacement ?
Changes only works if the players have stopped playing for the current manager which isn't the case here, we have new blood that needs time to adapt to the Arsenal way, plus getting our two most unfluencial players off the slab and onto the pitch would help....
 
Arsene Wenger is a very frustrating man. He brings in over £70m in sales and spends £31m in purchases. Was he expecting this to have been enough to do the work the £70m used to do? He might of course have been hoping to bring in some other player and may yet do do in January. Then again the manner of the summer's transfers was all so last minute and left no time for the players to acquaint themselves and their styles with each other on the pitch. SAF concluded his business in the transfer window early and took the team on tour. By the time the season started they hit the ground running ( 15 points from 5 games says it all ) while we were left floundering.

As said before there may be other factors beyond Arsene's control that have contributed to this lamentable state but everyone will inevitably look to him because he is the manager. However tactics, strategy, team selection and player positioning are the balls in his court. Therefore he really needs to be sure he throws them well over the next month or the pressure to go may just be too great.
 
People calling for Wenger to be sacked are not seeing the whole picture.
It's all too easy to call for change.
Change for what?
The reality is that we'd be worse off without Wenger
by a long way

That's not necessarily true.

We could get someone more tactically astute.

Wenger has his strengths but I guaranatee someone like Hiddink or Mourinho would get better results with this squad. (the football we play would not be as aesthetically pleasing but we would be alot more solid that's for certain.)

Wenger's and amazing offensive coach but as a tactician he sucks.

Would people seriously rather see Mourinho at the club ?
The guy is poison, a very talented manager but poison, Arsenal have always been a classy club with certain standards, appointing Mourinho would drag us down to gutter levels
 
Wenger isnt a football team manager, he is great at running a business. Fergie is a great football team manager... thats the difference, thats all there is. Fergie gets the results on the pitch, he gets the best out of his players and they respect him and when they score you can see the passion. Wenger is great at the back room stuff, but not the essentials to run a football team, end of.

It's a double edged sword, the guy is a classless and certainly would lower the tone of the club in aspects but from a results standpoint only he would be succesful and would give us a real chance in Europe, the type of football would have to change and would not be as entertaining but the man delivers. He would need big financial backing which he would not currently get.
Id rather see someone else but I would not be against the man completely. Could see more chance of him returning to Chelsea depending on how Villa-Boas situation develops.
 
I don't disagree gunner, but I'm old enough to remember the real bad days so the 'crisis' we're currently in doesn't seem quite so bad to me as it probably does for others.
Arsenal have always done things a certain way, they've always portrayed a professional 'do things the right way' image and bar the odd drink driving ban, Paul Davis left hook and my namesakes period sewing mailbags, this has been retained throughout the history of the club, Mourinho for me would change the club values forever
