Lets try not to dwell too much on the negatives, lets draw a line in the sand, move on and look at the positives. Two wins on the trot, without playing particulary well, its nice to see that we can dig deep, and grind out results if we have to. This could be the start of a run...

I did a bit of digging to find out where our trialists we had in pre season have gone. :-

    Alex Mendy Chesterfield
    Jlloyd_Samuel Still at Bolton
    Isiah_Osbourne Hibs
    Boldi_Bodor Crete

Who's going to do the 'topless Tuesday' thread tomorrow, any takers ??? :emoticon-0111-blush

Song of the day, lets have the baywatch theme (cos I really like the music)

    Morning,

It's a damp dreek day today in Scotland, the kind of day when the world just looks grey. Anyway, let's not be too downhearted, we have won the last 2 games even though we have played utter pish, perhaps a sign of a good team?

Maybe Mendy should have been signed! They must have had some idea Gradel wanted to go and Mendy wouldve been good competition for Snoddy Nunez/Sam

    Morning Boab and Kissa,
Quite interesting on Mendy's wiki page, it says the following :-

With Leeds enterring contract talks with Mendy, the move was called off on 11 August, after Leeds decided that they had to prioritise the transfer budget to sign players in other positions

Bates refused to pay his wages to sign for us! and he also refused to give Mendy and expenses back even tho Grayson was the one who wanted to sign him! Grayson then got Mendy in touch with Chesterfield

If this is true, you have to wonder what the real relationship between Grayson and Bates is like. From what I have been told, there is next to no communication between the other board members and Bates, with Grayson trying to deal with all of them.

    Morning team!

Hope you all had a cracker on Saturday, my boss was up and said they looked about as average as some of our players did but we still should've got a couple more.

So, big week for the team. I hate to sound pessimistic, but I'm dreading a good showing tomorrow (but still resulting in a loss) then falling to pieces on Friday. What are your predictions?

I reckon we will have two close games tomorrow and friday, maybe even sneaking a win on Friday.

I know it sounds unplausible, but, apart from Soton, we don`t do that bad in front of the cameras and against the 'big' teams.

Soton wasn`t a one off for them though, they did Brum 4-1 yesterday at St Marys so obviously extremely good at home.

Phil, Unfortunatley I know how good they are at home. Much better record than us at Elland Road!

Morning all. I know its ManUre & we should play our strongest team, but Friday has to be way more important. Me, I'd olay a lot of squad players & rest Howson, Clayton, & Snoddy. I'd play Sam, the new Finn, Brown & Nunez plus a CB pairing of Lees & Bromby to see what they look like together.

So long as we don't embarass ourselves, all will be well. The only problem I see is our fans getting cross having paid good money to see us perform as well as we can only to see us field a weakened team & get hammered. That said, I just wonder who will start for them. I can see Fergie not starting with Rooney & a few other 1st teamers, as they have for them a much bigger game next Tues/Wed in the CL.

Don't think we'll win, but as long as we get something out of Brighton on Friday, all will be well. Pity Kisnorbo won't be there, but at least it gives SG the opportunity to play Bromby (& possibly Lees) as a new CB partnership.

Boggers agree about Bromby ... he'll never set the world alight ... But i like him and at the end of the day i think his best of a poor bunch defender wise..

But thats just my humble opinion..

    Boggers,

The first team players will by dying to play though. And like you say, the high ticket prices for a cup game, mean the fans deserve to see a full strength team out.

For Man U, they've just had a CL game onWednesday, then Chelsea yesterday (Hernandez got injured) and they've got Stoke away on Saturday with a CL game a few days after. He'll play reserves. Valencia, Park, Carrick, Berbaflop, etc. will all play.

Badge, I'm glad Bromby's still here. Lees will take time to develop. Informed wisdom on here suggests that he's more a CB than a RB. Kisnorbo/Bromby are just the sort of players to help bring him on. I doubt we'll sign O'Dea at the end of the season. So someone will have to step up to the plate permanently next season, especially if Kissa really has permanently lost a yard or three of pace. Either way, I hope Bromby starts with Lees on Tuesday & then maybe the pair could continue on Friday if the partnership works.
