Silver lining: That was Rose's 5th booking, so he'll miss the Everton game.

Gazzaniga’s 12 saves today was the most by a keeper since De Gea in December 2017.

It’s scary how poor Spurs are at the back these days and like most issues, this isn’t a new thing.

Not true, Klopp has a squad of 25 players and 19 of them have played more than half a season with the other 6 used rarely, Very similar to Pochettino's use of his squad.

And yet in that season United came second.

    Plus it's not even unusual

    Date Team Player Opponent Saves
19 Apr 2014 Sunderland Vito Mannone Chelsea 14
2 Dec 2017 Man Utd David de Gea Arsenal 14
10 Nov 2013 Newcastle Tim Krul Tottenham 14
21 Mar 2015 West Brom Boaz Myhill Man City 13
7 Nov 2004 Fulham Mark Crossley Newcastle 13
2 Jan 2017 Sunderland Vito Mannone Liverpool 13
28 Feb 2016 Swansea Lukasz Fabianksi Tottenham 13
8 Apr 2006 Man City David James Tottenham 13

So more bullshit from the media swallowed whole.

You’re talking from an appearance basis, of course stats will be similar on that aspect because all managers pick an XI and generally use all 3 subs in a game, from a starting XI basis it will be completely different. Klopp very rarely changes his starting XI unless he’s forced too.

For instance appearance stats this season will show Lucas has played 8 league games and Salah 10. That would suggest they’re quite similar yet delve deeper and Salah started in all 10 of his games, Lucas just twice and in three of them he’s played 4, 5 and 6 minutes respectively.

DH we could spend ages going back and forth with this and the next thing I could bring up would be injuries and then we come back with transfers and so on. The point is that both managers use squads rather than 11s. Circumsatnces will change the extent they use particular players as well as their choice. Klopp has for sure been more successful at Liverpool but in terms of Liverpool history he is not yet one of their greats. Pochettino is working with a club with a much lower base so his success relative to Spurs history is probably of a similar order to Klopps

Because I find it so frustrating that Spurs got so close and yet feels like it’s all falling away in front of my eyes.

You support Spurs King you shouldn't be surprised at that. <laugh> I have been seeing that for over 50 years. That's why I don't want to lose Pochettino because I have seen all those years of frustration, but at least in all those years Spurs try to play football in the right way and still attract some really great players to do it. Like Ginola & Klinsman & VDV & Lineker & Sherringham & Bale & Ardilles & Villa & Greaves & on and on.Now we have Kane & Son

    Enjoy

Klopp uses his squad when necessary, such as he’ll change his XI if a player is injured or if it’s in a lower priority game.

Poch is just changing his XI for no reason half the time. To make it worse, he made changes today where four inferior players came into the team. He played a weaker team against Liverpool than he did against Red Star, there’s absolutely zero logic to that.

Maybe DH maybe but it's all a matter of opinion and I can't believe that Poch would pick what he thought was a weaker team to play Liverpool. So his opinion differs from yours and mine as well because I would have not gone with Rose and stuck with Davies but I always come back to the fact that I do not see these players every day and that makes a huge difference to your perceptions of who should start.

I just don’t understand his thought process anymore. He’s picking players who either don’t want to be here (Toby, Eriksen), players who he wanted to sell (Rose) and players who are so clearly not good enough (Winks) and then expecting results? There’s just no logic for me anymore and as I’ve said on other threads I’ve lost complete faith in him.

We simply cannot continue like this for much longer because if the gap to top four widens any more we’re in serious danger of missing out on CL football next season and then that has a potentially really bad chain reaction.

I didn't think that we were that poor at the back in this particular game, in fact through the centre Sanchez and Alderweireld were amongst our better performers and most of the saves Gazza made whilst competent were not exactly 'worldies.' Lots of saves from shots from distance that to a certain extent result from a degree of frustration that they were not able to carve us open at will. We did concede too many free kicks around the box which invited pressure but we dealt with most of them with the exception of the one that Van Dijk won in the air and Gazza made a decent save to turn that one over, though it was another save that I would expect him to make.

I am sorry to side with opposition, but to my mind it was a definite penalty (and I am one who generally harps on about Liverpool penalties), Aurier did well initially and held Mane up, but once Mane was back between him and the ball he was stupid to try and tackle he clearly made sufficient contact and the penalty was rightly awarded IMO. Just the latest in a series of bad decisions by Aurier, and to be fair we didn't complain which is generally an admission that the ref got it right.

I thought Mr Taylor had a decent game and is currently the best ref in the league

It was the same as the Van Dick/Lamela incident so we can't have it both ways. Taylor gave himself time to think, did not show-boat like Dean or Oliver would have done and calmly made the correct decision. Taylor is by far the best referee in the Premiership currently.

Theres no problems...just 16 points behind the team we were consistently finishing above for almost a decade...up until this and last season.

Moura needs to apologise to Poch for ****ing his wife

Jan needs to **** Eriksen's wife foreal so that the twat can **** in January even if he doesn't intend to.

If Aurier was tackling Mane then I agree it was a clear foul. But if Mane was tackling Aurier then the foul was the other way. There is nothing in the Laws to help the referee decide as far as I can see.
I would not say it was a clear mistake but if Taylor had given a free kick to Spurs then I don't think VAR would have overturned it.
Taylor did a good job apart ftom stopping the match a minute early. Nothing added in for the substitution in added time.

In the Van Dyck incident neither player had touched the ball.
