The only joy I get is that Nemesis must be at work on him.
As things are, I can see no role for him at Madrid other than as a
bench warmer who came for free rather than with a nasty Levy tax.

With Winks I at least know there is an academy kid on the pitch
with no delusions of grandeur or infected with "I know what I am worth"
    syndrome.

At the very, very least, the work-rate and effort shown confirmed - as Spurf has pointed out - that the squad is still behind the manager.

But all the chopping and changing has to stop. All outfield players are available for selection. Poch has to decide on his best XI and stick with it. Watching Pool play, I was envious of how they seem telepathically connected at times. Some of the passing, switches and general movement was mesmerising. Stacked up against us who can barely string 3 passes together and cannot cross for ****, and that envy really hurt. And so much of that comes from the fact that Klopp knows his best formation/selection, and uses it every single time it is available. You just don't see him making 4-5 changes week on week.

I had my doubts about Toby and Dave starting but they actually didn't do too badly considering the relentless pressure we were under.

But Eriksen and Rose offer nothing. Front and back. Nada. How they can be considered members of our strongest XI is baffling. We looked more dangerous and full of ideas from literally the second Eriksen left the field. Starting with Everton next week, I want to start seeing that consistency.

The issue with playing the same ones is the risk of injury to said players who are giving their all. This is obviously why every club needs a “squad”. I’m not defending Poch, as the substitutions have pissed me off for years. However, it’s a fine balance, and extremely difficult at the moment with the problems that the squad has.
I mean, we haven’t even seen Sessegnon yet. We didn’t replace Trippier properly, Lo Celso was injured for weeks, and on top of that there’s about 3 or 4 names at least that don’t wanna be here/aren’t up to it. But he’s still gotta work with it. I wouldn’t wanna be doing his job right now.

Er, mate: the fact that Mane could comfortably get his leg across to get to the ball means that Aurier just never had that ball under control.

If a professional player can't rest and recuperate in a 5-day break they're in the wrong job mate.

Pool never chose to rest a key player in today's game so why should we/ Poch?

The problems in the squad you speak of can be partly eradicated - if players don't wanna be here then to the U23s they go. I'd much rather see Foyth, KWP Tanganga, Skipp etc get minutes knowing Poch has done the right thing by dropping the wantaways than keep talking about how there's problems and it's hard for Poch, it's only hard because he's allowing it to be.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm digging you out mate but I just feel there's too many excuses (not just from you) for Poch's stupid management.

I assure you that I wasn't one of them. That was VVD as well, wasn't it? If someone gets across you in the box you can't touch them. You certainly can't attempt to hook your foot around them and go straight into their calf. We had a guy called Djimi Traore who used to specialise in that.

Also early onset dementia by the time they were in their 40s, and that's if the liver failure didn't get them first

How was he able to get his foot in between Aurier and the ball then? He was evidently closer to it than Aurier was at the time of impact. :emoticon-0112-wonde

As Malala pointed out he was obviously a lot closer than Aurier .

Why would it be a ridiculous knee-jerk one?

Do we have to be in the relegation zone before we dare question things?

Im not just on about today although I think he picked the wrong 11 and as per usual, waits until they concede before he makes subs.

Since Feb, Spurs have been woeful. This is not just a temporary blip, this is a long period of time where Spurs don’t look anything like a top 4 or even top 6 side.

I'm going to hazard a guess that, if Lamela wasn't crocked in training, Eriksen would've been on the bench when the squads were announced - and let's be blunt, that has more to do with Lo Celso's injury than anything Eriksen's done lately (of course, the Lunatic Fringe say the blame lies at the feet of both Poch and Levy, as if the two clattered Coco in training the other day...)

Rose is the one that irritated me because, while Sessegnon isn't match fit yet, Davies did enough in the international break to show he could handle a couple of games in a short space of time and really should have been in contention for a start...and if he wasn't 100%, I'm really not joking when I suggest that Dennis Cirkin would be a better option as he actually looks like he can be bothered with this whole "playing football" lark
