Well we had controversy both in and out of the ring. I think the referee was wrong to halt the fight at that stage, because Firtha had Fury in all sorts of trouble after that massive punch in the third round, so you could question why the ref did not step in at that stage. I think the best description that sums up Channel fives coverage would be A JOKE. Anyone watching after the 1st round would have seen a black blank screen for 3 whole rounds and what made me mad the most was the lack of an apology from the hosts like it never happened.
Well am from the north west and i got the blank blackscreen so the whole of the country got it i presume. I think his jab is his key weapon.
They did apologise and played the missing rounds again!! - I think CH5 have done a good job, impressed Regarding Fury, I keep thinking he is going to burn himself out and he seems to have the wise head to cover up / grab and get through the dodgy times when he is caught That jab is quick and snappy for a boxer of his size
I was pissed of with them for missing 3 whole rounds but i saw the replays after on the channel so good on them for that and if they apologized then . I think Fury's jab is his best weapon and has used it to his advantage. What do you think of his chances if he does take on the Klitschko brothers.
I think the Klitschko's would be technically too good for him at the moment and he would have to be a bit more mobile and harder to hit (I still think Haye would beat him presently) In a couple of years time he would be better and they would be older, so I wouldn't rule him out of it then
Be interesting to see how one of the bitchkos could cope with fighting someone taller than them, obviously there better but i still reckon it would trouble them
He look's ok when he's not punching himself in the face but he is fighting complete bum's at the moment and would get demolished by either Klitschko at the moment, a year down the line you never know.
He hasn't been fighting "just" bums. He took out Chisora who was the British champ. He'll dispatch of Price too, and I don't think he is afraid of anyone, he is just too raw at the moment. He is only, 22 or 23, thats very young for a heaveyweight, in fact any pro. He's clever he isn't going to take on a Klitschko until he is ready, he should be looking at Helenius and possibly Adamek at the moment. Big heavyweights but not the very best. He's not ready to step in to the shoes of a World champ just yet. But 18 months to 2 years and he should be ready. He hammered Firtha and he was clearly not in fighting condition, I think he wasn't expecting to be caught especially by such a hard hit. He's got a lot of potential, he is just too raw at the moment.
I think that would be very interesting because every time i see one of of the Klitshko's fights they seem to be huge compared to their opponents. I think at this stage, he is not yet ready to face them because he is still very young so has time on his side and needs to continues to develop. I think his promoter is right in saying he should be ready in 12-18 months time.
It was a bit of a Joke how 5 can't even broadcast fully. Stopped prematurely where though Firtha was taking the bulk of the punishment he proved he could change the course of the fight with one punch. Fury is still learning and is an exciting fighter because of his flaws Would like to see Fury vs Helenius next year.
Complete and utter bullshit. I like Fury, good jab but he did get a bit cocky and almost paid for it. He does have to make himself harder to hit instead of using his face to stop punches though. I only missed 2 minutes because of the black screen.
Saying Klits have avoided Valuev, despite it being the other way round. Valuev refused $1.5 offer to fight Vitali.
“Due to many incorrect representations in the past, I want to make it perfectly clear that K2 Promotions has offered Nikolai Valuev $2.5 million to face Vitali Klitschko, and on behalf of Team Valuev, we are accepting their offer." 2008 "I accepted the terms of contract and I'm ready to get it on for miserable one and a half million U.S. dollars... I cannot even understand these pathetic accusations. I'm ready to collide with the Ukrainian. If he isn't then, ok. Vitali will continue fighting guys like [Albert] Sosnowski," 2010 Apology accepted.
