Piss poor planning meant I missed most of the 2nd half on the telly box and had to settle for radio commentary. I'm not a huge fan of rugby on the radio but that sounded like ABs were slaughtered. Unbelievable from England, dodgy TMO as well. First call legit, 2nd marginal. Just hope the England bodies can recover in 7 days. Now come on South Africa tomorrow. More piss poor planning means I'm in the Principality next weekend and I don't want us to be playing them fookers.
Apart from the mistake at the throw in for the AB's try I don't think that they put one foot wrong all game. Simply brilliant stuff from our boys...!! Got to say that I thought the ref was good, both TMO's I thought were fair calls, yes the 'forward pass' in the moving maul was questionable but it wasn't totally clear cut that it was held was it...?? In all honesty though the best side won and bar that error at the lineout they should have been scoreless which in itself shows how good we were on the day... Anyway, final time, our first for a while, and one that either of the other semi-finalists should be thinking, how we going to beat them next week...!! Bring it on...!!!
I can think of better ways of spending a Sunday morning/afternoon/evening than being a Wales forward getting thumped by South African forwards!
The first time he'd ever bowled in England, in an international. His first ever ball... Incredible stuff
Not just the spin but the drift to leg. Never seen it in super slo-mo before. He starts that ball off on leg it drifts about 18 inches and then spins it back that far plus the width of the stumps. Getting was recalled because he was a good player of spin. Didn't matter how good he was that would have got anyone out. Incredible ball as you say.
It it was certainly a dire old affair. But I sort of liked the grind on the SA line by the Welsh, and the Bok defence. The final against England will be a fantastic battle of the forwards. The two best packs in the tournament. Can't wait.
Well, that was a bit of an anti-climax after the exhilarating match of yesterday, but as they say there's many a way to skin a fish isn't there...?!? To be honest, both the Welsh & SA's play a bit of an outdated system to the fast running, open play of say England, All Blacks and even the French, which is hard on the eye but can be equally effective at times. The only issue I have with that style of play is that it's predictable and can be easily played against. I would think that hitting all of those box kicks against our lot may be a recipe for disaster, but we'll have to wait and see wont we... Shame for the big man Alun Wyn Jones, just an immense player, and he probably wont get to this situation again in what playing days he has left. But, that's done now, lets look forward to a final where we come out on top...!!
81 kicks in 80 minutes (probably 70 minutes if you take off 10 with all the scrum resets) tells it's story. The South Africa kicking game was pretty poor in patches too and if Wales had been a bit braver rather than just trying to stay in the match and nick it they may well have prevailed. Massive opportunity missed for the Principality just like 2011. Gatland pisses me off. He gave it the "little nation punching above it's weight" bullshit in his after match talk. Utter rubbish: it's the national game in Wales and they are a rugby super power with plenty of cash. The little nations who box above their weight are those Pacific Island teams that continually haemorrhage their best players to the bigger more well off nations but still manage to compete.
Can the Welsh hold off the All Blacks today...?? The crookies have NZ EVENS at a 21 point start on the handicap betting, and 3/10 just to win the match... I just think it's a game to nothing as I'm sure none of the players really want to boast about being the 3rd best team in the tournament...!! Can't watch it as I'm at work, but will be checking in on the scores as they go in...
I'm in Anglesey with the telly on but all the Welsh in this house are still in bed. #fairweathersupporters #pointlessthirdplaceplayoff
Crookies got the difference about right then...!! Hard luck to the Welsh, weakened side and all, but the Kiwi's always had the better side going in to this match... And so we begin the countdown to the main event... Can't wait...
And played well they did!Cant see anything but an England win tomo, they will be to quick and nimble for SA and will hopefully win me a few quid
