Sad goings on at Plymouth, and today Peter Reid has been sacked by Peter Ridsdale. Poor bloke has apparently sold one of his cup final medals to raise money towards his players wages. Feel for poor old Reidy, and decent players have been sold-off to pay debts (inc our own BWP) and they have not given him anything in return. All he has been able to sign are freebies and then only really late so he could make a team up.
Ridsdale nearly bankrupted Leeds, ****ed up Barnsley, had to sell Cardiff to foreigners to get them debts cleared. Bloke is a complete twat. Hope Reidy gets another opportunity soon.

God help him if he is, cos Ridsdale will end up sacking him. You would'nt want taking Argyle out of the Football League on your CV either, and that will happen with Ridsdale in charge.

He even paid last year's electricity bill so that the office girls had heating during the winter.

    He has been shat on.

I don't like Plymouth any more than the next guy born in Exeter, however this is terrible what's going on. City fans trust put some money in last year to try and help them out, but it's a sinking ship, they relied on the London 2018 bid, foolishly I would say. Same as MK, a lot of clubs just saw £££££'s and jumped when there was no actual grounding to do so.

Again, we all had a laugh at Peter Reid when we were at Wembley, but he worked tirelessly for one of the most despicable men in football, we are all waiting for the first 'modern' club to fall out of existence and Risdale will run this one very close.

It's always the fans that get hurt

I know a few lads who are Plymouth fans, mate comes from that way. It was their new owner that bought the club hoping to get on the world cup bandwagon, as you can imagine their feelings towards him are rather strong on the negative side.

I'm not Peter Reid's biggest fan but what he has done for that club is more than anyone would have expected and it's in a big black hole, which I fear they will not return from. Another reason these new owners of football clubs need to be checked out before any sale can go ahead, forget the top leagues it's more detrimental to the teams further down.

Plymouth have been in administration longer than virtually any club I can recall. Their fans do not deserve this and certainly Peter Reid has shown himself to be a proper football man digging into his own pocket to keep things going. I doubt that Risdale has put in any of his own money to keep the club rolling. Unless some of the city types who profess to be Argyle supporters put their hands in their pockets for "their" club I can see the club going out of existence and out of the league.

None of this is Reid's fault and I hope that someone in football will respect him and give a role which will at least keep the wolf from the door.

It is also about time that the Department of Trade and Industry looked into Risdale's collection of failures and questioned whether he was fit to be a director of a sweet shop let alone a football club. I am not certain whether the administrator, who will take their own fees come what may, are above reproach in this matter and an investigation must surely ensue.
