At the home track for what looks to be a trappy card. Wonder if any of the folks on here can steer me to a winner or its tap water all the way.
Imperial Alcazar was reported to be the horse that Paddy Brennan likes the most of all those with FOB, and given his bumper form and the yard form I think he’s the one to beat in the first. Id love to see Frodon beat them in the Old Roan off that weight.
The Evan Williams yard have three runners at Aintree today and all look quite interesting and in with a decent chance. Worth a little Yankee/Patent in my opinion. My only concern as usual with this yard is that they seem to have a hell of a lot of horses fall. This is obviously a worry with a jumps yard when they can't jump too great. So IF they can all stay upright, i'd expect all three to be competing at the finish. 12:40 - Coconut Splash 15/2 1:50 - On Tour 11/4 2:25 - Voodoo Doll 10/1 Failing that Bryony Frost could have a very good day. Whatever you go with hope you have a great day.
Although i really don't like the bloke, there is no doubting he is a top class trainer and Nicky Henderson has two runners at Wincanton today that i think are worth a look. Ew single on the first, win on the second and ew double. 1:00 - Du Destin 14/1 3:20 - Torolight 11/4
Lossiemouth in the opener at Aintree. Lacey doesn't go overboard in bigging up his horses but he rates this one highly. Drifting like a barge to 6/1 but I'm keeping the faith. Good luck all.
Aintree 12:40 Copper Coin Was in the process of running a big race last year at Chepstow when falling at the last. Yard can ready them after a break (Had a nice winner with Mysteree at Kelso yesterday).
Morning all...a no bet day for me today as family gathering this afternoon but I would take a chance on Flying Angel in the Old Roan if I was having a bet. I see the official going description at Aintree is soft but they had plenty of rain yesterday afternoon so I expect it to be very testing which will suit this fella. Thought whilst on I would give a mention to Howling Milan who is one of the leading lights at the Drinkwater yard and Hello Bob who trainer feels will make in to a nice horse. Both at the same stable as our fella and i saw both when last there. Got some insight in to Hello Bob and I thought she looked very well indeed..lovely horse actually. The ground has gone against them though so I wouldn't recommend backing either today. Good luck if you are betting today..
For me Bigmartre has an excellent chance in the Old Roan. Looks the type that will progress further this season and is well regarded by his in form stable.
I had a long look at that juvenile hurdle last night and concluded that the front four in the betting, whilst coming from big yards, all looked distinctively average on both hurdles and flat form. FLEURSALS has the best flat form in the book and if she is fit and ready after a long break I can see her going close at a nice price. Backed her EW at 14/1 and KAPITALISTE EW 5 places at 20/1. In the Old Roan I have backed FOREST BIHAN (15/2) to spring a surprise. He may have a slight fitness edge and the yard is more a raging inferno then on fire!
I heard the same story this morning Nass and was told to get on early as they expect the price to shorten
I don't know if it's good or bad for you (I'm afraid bad) but I have a bet on Coconut Spash since yesterday afternoon. Drifting this morning, now 12/1.
Imperial Alcazar's form took a bit of a knock the other day with his Ascot conqueror Eden De Houx beaten at Fontwell by I K Brunel. I'm with Chan on this - I think Lossiemouth will take all the beating. The veterans keep beating each other so hopefully it is Theatre Guide's turn today. I'm hopeful more than confident that Garretstown can go well in the 2.25 whilst I, like many others, will be willing Frodon and Bryony to win the Old Roan. Tough enough ask at the weights but we know he stays further and it could well be attritional. In the novice chase I expect Plan Of Attack to make the journey form Ireland worthwhile and I'll take a chance on Wheesht in the bumper. Best of luck everyone
I'll be having a go at these .... Green dolphin Laugharne On tour Hear no evil Frodon Django django Notawordofalie Good luck all
