That's good mate. You ought to buy yourself some fresh carrots, you can buy saver bags for the price of that tin stuff. Easy to do, fook peeling them, top and tail, chop and sling in a pan. Could add any other veg you like in the same pan.
Which as daft as it sounds, my job is pressure each day. Everything has to be delivered, unloaded, split down, checked in, picked, loaded then delivered within a short time. Fresh has to be fresh, which is why us (as in loaders driving the trucks) are always getting ****ed up. Short timescales, driving machines, Simple things like checking the trailer temps, -19 for frozen, 3 for chill.

The facts are that you were dismissing and taking the piss out of a place that's been open since 1944 and is still run by the same Italian family. I imagine they've changed over time to cater for the locals and I'm sure their food has its differences with traditional Italian food considering the distance from Italy and the time the place has been open. I'm certain that this Italian family has much more of a clue than you.
