I would have no problem with Bamford playing instead of Nketiah if we had goals flying in from other parts of the pitch but it's just not happening! If Harrison and Costa were banging them in and a no.10 helping out then no problem. Unfortunately we have no goalscorers in the team. Not one! If we could get Bamford, Roberts or Hernandez in at no.10 and Eddie up front I think we would look more dangerous. At least we'd have a natural goalscorer in the team and A.N Other looking to get in on the act from no.10. Also, one of the other things that irks me is that when we do cross the ball in there is usually only Bamford in there. Look what happened on Tuesday night. When we were chasing the game we commited people forward in the box and surprise surprise Eddie found some space. It's hard to criticise given the league position and the improvement we have seen over the last 18 months or so. I think it's just frustration that we are finally the best side in the league but still can't get the job done! It's hard work watching us do everything but put the ball in the net!
No m8, us English do it the right way,you take the skirt off and shag it,don't try this in Scotland as you might find a hairy arse.
I'm not too comforted by our league position, we are only 3 points above 10th. The thing pissing me off is but for the points dropped because we haven't killed games off because we can't score, we'd probably be 5-8 points clear at the top by now. Any team that could put a 4-5 winning run going at the moment will be in the box seat and boy are we using up all our favours (thank you Hull).
Got to admit I didn't understand his logic about Nketiah 'he only makes runs to score goals'. Isn't it goals we are lacking?
In truth, because I know I invite attack because I absolutely accept Bielsa has brought far more positives since his appointment so it heresy to criticise, the last press conference seemed littered with contradictions on (what even he called) the Bamford / Nketiah discussion. Stripped down it seems it as some have said on here, he likes what Bamford brings to the balance of the team whilst accepting he misses a lot of chances, and accepts Nketiah is used to playing with better quality players at Arsenal so all he needs to do is concentrate his runs on scoring goals whereas he needs to learn the Bamford role at Leeds because the players aren't as good? Then acknowledges that we need 7-8 chances to score, which is one of the worst in the league and down with the relegation strugglers. I for one am miffed.
This Is Why We Are Better Than Last Season – Leeds United Boss Marcelo Bielsa Inside Futbol Marcelo Bielsa believes he has been seeing more consistency in the performance of his Leeds United players this term compared to last season. Leeds have dropped points in recent weeks and only managed a 1-1 draw at Preston North End on Tuesday night. But they have continued to be one of the favourites to earn promotion to the Premier League and are second in the league table, two points behind leaders West Brom. Leeds came close to promotion last season as well only to lose to Derby in the playoff semi-final, but Bielsa believes there has been an improvement in terms of consistency this time around. He feels the level of performance from his Leeds players has not fluctuated and they have continued to maintain a standard despite the changes in the team. Bielsa said in a press conference when asked whether he feels Leeds have improved this season: “I think this team is much better than last year’s team.” When asked to explain, he said: “The level of the players." “Last season we had players who played very well. We also had players who didn’t do well. Today is more regular in performance." “And today we are 15, 16. Today we are 12, 13. Today if [Barry] Douglas plays, it’s similar to [Ezgjan] Alioski. Or [Patrick] Bamford or [Eddie] Nketiah, [Stuart] Dallas or [Luke] Ayling. “This is important.”
