Yeah, I’d say he needs the middle distance race. Actually both the second and third are interesting for the season too. The NTD horse jumped well from the front and the Sue Smith horse showed plenty too. If they get Midnight Shadow into a handicap at the festival that would be a good target too.

I just watched the replay - very impressive the amount of ground he made up on the leader over the last 3 furlongs. As you say, probably JLT unless the Arkle cuts up.

What did you make of Winningseverything at Southwell? OK half a minute above standard on slow ground but boy did he spreadeagle his field (which looked pretty decent on paper).

I was impressed but I think it was more that the Jonjo horse blew up on the turn for home and Blackfinch was finishing well in second after being outpaced. I’d be interested in seeing him up in grade and against a more competitive field

Fast by 1.9 seconds on good-soft. Did Jonjo's blow up or come to the end of his stamina at that pace?

Edit: Twister's horse second, not Jonjo's

Yes, so was I. The NTD horse kept on very well all the way to the line.

I’d go to somewhere like Wincanton or maybe Warwick before going to Cheltenham.

I thought all the best races started with the tapes and not the stalls...<whistle><whistle>
