Where did I say I blamed Bamford for all our shots, because I didn't, his job is a striker so i'm led to believe, he's doing some good work and works hard but he's not putting the ball in the net where he's supposed to put it, that's his job, isn't it? Eddie comes on and scores, I like that kind of luxury maybe you should ask Bielsa why he wanted luxury players if they don't fit in with his style of play
No, didn't miss Harrisons pass for goal, Harrison makes mistakes which come good ocassionally. Keep making those excuses for Phillips and Aying JLA, you don't see what you don't want to see. You were same on other forum, you haven't changed much. .
Joking about Bamford, as you well know. It was originally aimed at 2p, then you jumped in. I like that kind of luxury too! Eddie is a fox in the box & we don't have anyone else that comes close. I'm pretty sure that if we hadn't signed Costa, Eddie would have been in from the start. But we did & Bielsa has obviously been trying to round out Costa first. I don't think it's worked, personally. Not yet. Work in progress. It's big decision time for Bielsa now. If he feels that he can only play 1 luxury player, then I hope that Costa gets dropped & Eddie gets in, deficiencies & all. My view is that he'll need either Roberts or Bamford to help him out, but wtf do I know? EDIT: Expected a great deal from the Cult on Sunday & was delighted that they were better than I ever thought they could be. Brilliant. Next concert is on Nov 3rd - Greta Van Fleet. Thought I'd wind you up about that one
You replied to me you ****er If Bamford, with his workrate, was a fox in the box like fast Eddie he would be ****ing immense, its just not happening for him at the moment, Bielsa needs to do something, that's all i'm saying I tried to phone you Sunday night when we got to the gig, we were near the front, it was brilliant really enjoyed it Where are Greta Van Fleet playing on the 3rd, I'm in Dublin that weekend for the Cup final?
We could develop a debate if you like I don’t see where I said Bielsa had 21/22 shots on goal I blame him for same basic team and tactics week in week out
Just say it as I see it I didn’t expect much out of the game and so was not disappointed Having said that only 3 shots on target out of 22 reluctance to make changes to the team Tell me I’m wrong to be pissed off
But when forshaw was fit he played in midfield with Phillips so you still haven’t answered who you would replace him with?
If that’s the case Bielsa could play Bamford (or Roberts) at 10, let’s face it Dallas isn’t a central midfielder, with Eddie up top and if he wants a workhorse instead of luxury, play Dallas for Costa in front of Ayling.
Insisted all along Bamford is not a 20/25 goals a season striker, at this rate he'll be lucky to reach double-figures, 15 at best if he shapes himself. Imo PB is not a good striker, it's got beyond the stage of him being unfortunate or out of form. Bamford whole demeanour is wrong so much so it's become embarrassing! The likes of Wood, Beckford, Becchio & McCormack who have played for Leeds at championship level would have eaten up the chances Paddy continues to miss. The opportunities he squandered tonight is unacceptable, once again he has cost us points, the game should have been out of Preston's sight by half-time. With five minutes to go I couldn't see us grabbing a point, our blushes saved by a 19yo kid who is a natural goalscorer. Surely that was a penalty at the death as Eddie appeared to be taken out from the back. Something has to give or else we are not going up come next May
He was outstanding, first comment a mate of mine made in a phone call to me an hour ago Kalvin won countless balls in midfield & in our defence orchestrating the middle of the park whilst Klich failed to make an impact on the game It's no-coincidence that Phillips received so many votes across the MOTM polls online & with so many of my travelling pals
That’s because you only focus on all the good and many things he does every match. You don’t allow and nail him for the odd mistake he might make (which inevitably is the cause of every goal we concede) because he is involved in EVERYTHING we do so fundamental to our style he is. You also don’t crucify him for not being human and allow him the odd bad game, as no other player with maybe the exception of Ayling, ever has
I think if you asked pretty much anyone who has watched any amount of Leeds’ games this and last season for the one player they would put on the team sheet it would be Phillips. Not only for where he plays but for the job he does. Early in the game yesterday Preston broke down our right and Kalvin just muscled the ball off their winger, it was quality. I watched Declan Rice, the wonder kid in the DM position, playing recently and saw him lose the ball in his own half then just stroll back watching the opponent score. I think it might have been a couple of weeks ago Phillips is still a kid who is learning a new position.
