This! The media just used Barton as another way of getting at Newcastle. They find every possible little thing to vent their displeasure at Newcastle.

You ask why he left us for them but then answer your own question by admitting they are better than us? So perhaps for that very reason?

Enrique wanted to leave for a more ambitious club because he was clearly miffed at our lack of transfer activity whereas Liverpool spent in abundance with the goal of champions league in mind. Whether or not they fulfill this isn't relevant its the fact that at the time they had the ambition to do so and Jose needed that.

And saying if Liverpool get champs league they wont get far? Once again based on what? If they finish 4th this season it will be because they have been a great team and gelled together and done well and could possibly spend more in the summer, impossible to tell really. Stupid article as usual.

 

Jose also wanted to leave because he laughed at our contract offer Ashley Cole style, "What?!? You're only going to match the ludicrous salary I was signed on to by Sam Allardyce? **** off!". Don't forget that for all the talk of Champions League.

Otherwise I agree, its far too early to write off Carroll or Jose at Liverpool, though I'm less convinced by Adam and Henderson.

Wouldn't get him back on the cheap.
Will get us playing worse football again.
Will probably fight with new french players.
Will inevitably get in more bother now he hasn't got Nolan to look after him.
Doubt he'd come back with current owners.

 

I still think hes a quality player and will come good for Liverpool but I must say I dont think I'd want him back, would rather take a chance on some new talent for a cheaper price.

No way it would be like robbing money, knowing you had got away with it and then telling the police.

 

Have them both back in heartbeat and totally understand why both went. Wish them well and hope they have a cracking time there but must admit I don't take interest in them specifically because I'm only interested in us. To be honest I've always found it a bit pathetic when wishing ill on former players who did well for us and were good pros in the main, but each to their own and all that.

To be honest I thought Derek cleared up the Carroll thing for me the other week, they wanted the money. But again everyone has their own view on things.

 

Fair point but you can't really say we lack any amibition after the signings of the Cabaye (French League winner) and santon (intermilan, Hot Prospect for the future) on top of that we have made a few signings with the likes of Ba, Marveaux, Obertan, ok so two of them were free Obertan isnt proven yet but we have spent money just not in the excess of that of Liverpool, no biasy here but I think the signing of Cabaye for 5 million compared to Henderson and Adam for Liverpool, we have got much better value for money!, Henderson and Adam are not worth the money Liverpool paid for them

 

Carroll went for the extra money, which he will get. Enrique went for Champions League football and a better chance of getting in the Spanish national side, he will get neither.

 

While we're on with enjoying ex-players failings...I have to say, I'm enjoying the fact we're currently sitting well above Arsenal after being snubbed by Gervinho.

Don't get me wrong, 99% of neutrals would choose Arsenal above us, but its nice to have the league table make it look like the wrong decision (at least for now)
