    Gerry McSherry?

He is a diehard Celtic supporter who actually believed Hugh Birt. He took it upon himself to investigate the "open secret" and in the 1990s handed his findings to Strathclyde police.

He claimed 14 men attached to Celtic Boys club were abusing kids. The police at the time ignored him and Birt.

He was then arrested for smashing the Trophy centre windows and putting James Torbett in a state of fear and alarm. He stated at his trial that the frustration at Strathclyde police's inaction on the information he supplied and Torbetts unabated access to kids at Celtic's feeder club drove him to take matters into his own hands.

He was also arrested and charged with harassing Frank Cairney by making threatening phone calls to his home.

Of course both those court appearances were long before those he "harassed" were found guilty of abusing kids at Celtic's feeder club.

6 men on the Birt/McSherry list have subsequently been tried and found guilty of sexually abusing kids or other *****philia charges.

    @Mind The Duck said

    Let me get this right...

Sacking Neely on the spot and not contacting the police is acceptable

Nope. Sacking Neely on the spot was totally acceptable despite what you have said previously. Sacking him and not contacting the police is totally unacceptable but there is no evidence to say that happened.

Allegedly sacking Torbett and not contacting the police in unacceptable.

    Allegedly?

Totally unacceptable. Bringing him back and taking directorships of his company. Signing multi-million pound contracts with that company, not just "unacceptable" but criminal.

Waving a fond farewell to Neely after you admit to sacking him is acceptable.

A five line filler article in Rangers news written by someone who wouldn't have been privy to all the relevant information is hardly wishing him a fond farewell. Suffice to say Neely never set foot in Ibrox again and, as far as I'm aware, never held another trusted role in any level of Scottish football again.

Mentioning the exit of Torbett in a newspaper is tantamount to conspiracy

5 lines in the Rangers news 30 years ago is proof enough for you of a conspiracy. Torbet's exit merited a two page spread in the Celtic view.

Frank Cairney's arrest in Scotland after abusing a child in the USA saw Tommy Burns the then Celtic manager rush to his home in Uddingston and claim that "Celtic to a man would stand behind Frank"

Playing up to the same club myth except when you are asked for compensation for child abuse at ibrox is a bit off

Is more than a bit off. Terrible behaviour from the current Rangers regime. I said so when the story first broke and I have said so the 15 times you have brought it up as deflection since

Confirming Celtic don't own St Patrick's Sports Academy akin to a war crime

You do know that everybody knows its Celtic boys club, right?

    Yeah Aldo...

Nothing to do with the team you support

    At last some accuracy.

Sacking Neely on the spot soon became sacking Neely after he admitted to it. Rangers claim to have called the police yet wished him the best on his exit from Rangers.
    Why no retraction?
    Surely someone noticed this?
Why was there no mention of his sacking until this decade?

The answer is that it was a COVER-UP of child rape at ibrox.

The issues at St Patrick's Sports Academy that are in a similar vein to the Neely accusations, are not supported by evidence.

Birt accused a dead man of keeping quiet. A man who couldnot refute the allegation.

Torbett was never arrested after he left St Patrick's Sports Academy, so had no criminal record that would say "don't let this guy back in". Every smear thrown this way has no facts to support the claim that anyone knew about him.

Rangers admit they KNEW about Neely.

You are taking the word of a Birt who was not even at St Patrick's Sports Academy when the alleged meeting with Torbett took place.

You are ignoring the evidence that Rangers lied about the sacking of Neely.

Every slanderous statement about Jock Stein and St Patrick's Sports Academy Board Members could be true...but there is no real evidence, only hearsay.

Rangers have been caught lying. Caught in the midst of a cover up and your response is 100% all to do with the teams you support.

    That's tragic buddy

The article you have been spunking over for days said that the victim said Neely finally admitted his behaviour and Souness sacked him on the spot.

    Didn't you read it?

    Sacked immediately, when accused,originally.

Sacked on the spot, after admitting to it, in the update.

Luckily dead men cant refute this either

Surely an allegation against two prominent men in Sir Walter Smith and Graeme Souness from the National Broadcaster demands comment from said pillars of Football and society?

Stein wasn't around to defend himself iirc
